Hockey Club's Ian Cole: Puts up helper Thursday
Cole notched an assist and three blocked shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.
Cole had four assists over six outings from Dec. 23 to Jan. 4, but he had been held off the scoresheet in the four subsequent contests. The 35-year-old was able to snap that slump Thursday when he helped out on Matias Maccelli's opening tally 1:01 into the game. Cole is up to 13 points, 44 shots on net, 41 PIM, 52 hits, 127 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 44 appearances in a top-four role this season.

Hockey Club's Mikhail Sergachev: Contributes helper in loss
Sergachev notched an assist, two shots on goal, two blocked shots, two PIM and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.
Sergachev had gone three games without a point entering Thursday. That matches his longest drought of the season, which occurred Oct. 19-24. The 26-year-old continues to be a steady producer in a top-pairing role -- he's at 30 points, 72 shots on net, 81 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a minus-11 rating through 44 appearances. Sergachev has reached the 30-point mark in seven of his eight full NHL campaigns, the lone exception being his injury-riddled 2023-24.

Hockey Club's Nick Schmaltz: Draws power-play helper
Schmaltz notched a power-play assist, five shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.
Schmaltz has two goals and three assists during his four-game point streak. The 28-year-old earned the secondary helper on Logan Cooley's tally in Thursday's loss. Schmaltz is up to 34 points (12 on the power play), 97 shots on net and a minus-13 rating through 44 outings. He continues to fill a playmaking role on the top line and first power-play unit.

Keller helped out on a Logan Cooley tally early in the second period. With five assists over his last six games, Keller has remained solid on offense despite a lack of goals. The winger is up to 44 points (18 on the power play), 108 shots on net and a minus-6 rating through 43 outings.

Hayton produced two assists and four shots on goal in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.
Hayton had the primary helper on both of Matias Maccelli's goals in this contest. This was Hayton's first multi-point effort since Dec. 22 versus the Ducks. The center spent much of the campaign on the first line, but over the last week, he has been on the second line while Logan Cooley plays between Clayton Keller and Nick Schmaltz. Hayton is at 20 points, 68 shots on net, 26 blocked shots, 21 PIM and a plus-4 rating through 44 appearances.

Cooley scored a power-play goal on two shots and went minus-2 in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.
Cooley continues to be steady on offense. This was his third straight game with a point, and he has six goals and four assists over 13 contests since his last multi-point effort. The 20-year-old center is up to 13 goals, 38 points (14 on the power play), 90 shots on net, 32 hits and a plus-1 rating through 44 contests. Cooley should be on most fantasy rosters by now, especially since his move to the top line over the last week.

Hockey Club's Matias Maccelli: Pots pair of goals
Maccelli scored twice on five shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.
Maccelli had both of Utah's goals in the first period. He's scored in just four contests this season, but three of those have been two-goal efforts. The 24-year-old winger is up to seven tallies, 15 points, 64 shots on net and a minus-9 rating through 43 appearances. He's getting a look on the second line -- despite his lack of production this season, he could be worth a look for fantasy managers trying to find offense.

Hockey Club's Karel Vejmelka: Loses to Rangers
Vejmelka allowed four goals on 24 shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.
Vejmelka has lost four of his last five outings, and this was the second game in a row he's given up at least four goals. This is a poor time for his performance to dip, as Connor Ingram could provide a much larger challenge for starts than Jaxson Stauber did over much of the previous two months. Vejmelka is now 10-13-3 with a 2.54 GAA and a .910 save percentage over 28 appearances. Utah's next game is at home versus the Blues on Saturday.

Hockey Club's Karel Vejmelka: Gets starting nod for Thursday
Vejmelka will be between the pipes at home versus the Rangers on Thursday, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports.
Vejmelka will look to bounce back from a difficult performance against Montreal on Tuesday in which he gave up five goals on 26 shots (.808 save percentage). The Rangers have started to find their offensive of late, scoring 3.29 goals per game in January, which is the sixth-best mark in the NHL since the calendar turned to 2025. At this point, Vejmelka is cemented in the No. 1 job in Utah, but Connor Ingram is waiting for his opportunity to stake his claim.

Hockey Club's Sean Durzi: Might return in April
"There's a good chance" Durzi (shoulder) will be able to return in April, coach Andre Tourigny told Cole Bagley of KSL Sports on Wednesday.
Durzi has two assists, seven PIM, two hits and 13 blocks in four appearances with Utah in 2024-25. He hasn't been in the lineup since Oct. 14. Durzi will likely serve in a top-four capacity once he's healthy, though rust might be a factor after missing the vast majority of the campaign.

Kesselring logged an assist, two blocked shots and 10 PIM in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Canadiens.
Kesselring has a helper in consecutive games after going 12 contests without a point. The defenseman also got involved in a dust-up with Arber Xhekaj in this game. Kesselring brings a bit of talent on offense with a hard-nosed edge to his play. He has 17 points, 77 shots on net, 54 hits, 42 PIM, 35 blocked shots and a plus-10 rating through 43 appearances this season.

Maccelli registered an assist and two PIM in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Canadiens.
Maccelli is known for his playmaking, but he has struggled in that regard lately. His assist Tuesday was his first since Dec. 2, a span of 16 games in which he put up just two goals. The 24-year-old winger is up to five goals, eight helpers, 59 shots on net and a minus-8 rating through 42 appearances this season. Maccelli is getting a look on the second line with Barrett Hayton and Josh Doan, but that's a young forward trio that could get broken up eventually, and that would likely mean a return to the bottom six for Maccelli.

Schmaltz logged two assists, including one on the power play, and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Canadiens.
Schmaltz has four points over his last three outings. He helped out on goals by Josh Doan and Logan Cooley in Tuesday's defeat. Schmaltz is up to eight tallies, 25 assists, 92 shots on net, 21 blocked shots and a minus-11 rating through 43 appearances. He's not a very physical player, but Schmaltz's offense is good enough to fill a depth role on most fantasy teams.

Keller registered a pair of assists, including one on the power play, in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Canadiens.
Keller set up Josh Doan's power-play goal 2:11 into the game and also helped out on a Logan Cooley tally in the third period. The 26-year-old Keller continues to impress with a goal and five helpers over six outings in January. The winger is up to 43 points (17 on the power play), 107 shots on net and a minus-4 rating through 42 appearances this season, and a point-per-game pace is a fair expectation for his production the rest of the way.

Hockey Club's Nick Bjugstad: Lights lamp in loss
Bjugstad scored a goal and added three hits in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Canadiens.
The goal was Bjugstad's first since Nov. 23. The center was limited to one assist in December, but he's been better in January with four points over his last six games. For the season, the 32-year-old has 12 points, 61 shots on net, 56 hits, 20 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating over 35 appearances in a bottom-six role. He doesn't offer much upside for fantasy, especially at a position as deep as center.

Doan scored a power-play goal on four shots, added two hits and went minus-2 in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Canadiens.
The goal was Doan's first point in three games since he returned to the NHL lineup. It looks like Doan will get a chance to fill a middle-six role during Dylan Guenther's (lower body) absence, which does not have a specific timeline. Doan is up to three points, 18 shots on net, 12 hits and a minus-3 rating over 12 contests this season. His tally Tuesday was his first power-play point at the NHL level.

Cooley scored a goal on six shots and added two hits in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Canadiens.
Cooley's tally briefly tied the game at 3-3 in the third period. The 20-year-old center has four goals and three assists over nine outings since the holiday break. He's adjusted just fine to a spot on the top line between Clayton Keller and Nick Schmaltz, who assisted on his goal Tuesday. Cooley has 12 goals, 25 helpers, 88 shots on net, 31 hits, 22 PIM and a plus-3 rating through 43 contests this season.
