  • Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Tending twine against Seattle

Markstrom is slated to start Wednesday's home matchup against the Kraken, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.

After a strong outing in Monday's 5-2 win over the Wild, Markstrom will make consecutive starts for the first time since early December. While he has experienced his fair share of recent struggles, he has three wins over his last six appearances. Overall, the 35-year-old netminder has an 11-10-1 record with a 3.41 GAA and an .879 save percentage across 23 games this season. He'll take on a red-hot Kraken team that has gone 7-1-2 over its last 10 games, which could make him a bit of a risky play for fantasy managers.

  • Devils' Brenden Dillon: Garners assist in win

Dillon registered an assist, two shots on goal, two hits, three blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Monday's 5-2 win over the Wild.

Since the start of December, Dillon has collected three helpers, 20 PIM, 50 hits and 22 blocked shots over 21 appearances. The 35-year-old is part of a crowded blue line, and that has limited him to the third pairing, where he can provide physicality but little offense. The defenseman has a total of 12 points, 34 shots on net, 115 hits, 64 blocked shots and 37 PIM across 46 contests this season, while his 17:53 average ice time is the lowest it's been since 2018-19.

  • Devils' Nico Hischier: Adds pair of helpers

Hischier notched two assists, two shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Monday's 5-2 win over the Wild.

Hischier had gone seven games without a helper, earning three goals in that span. The center had a hand in goals by Dawson Mercer and Ondrej Palat across the first two periods of Monday's win. Hischier is at 35 points (11 on the power play), 122 shots on net, 36 hits, 42 blocked shots, 19 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 46 appearances this season.

  • Devils' Dougie Hamilton: Two helpers in return to lineup

Hamilton pocketed two assists in Monday's 5-2 win over the Wild.

After trade rumors were kicked into overdrive Sunday when Hamilton was a healthy scratch, the blueliner drew back into the lineup Monday and produced his first multi-point performance since Oct. 30. It's been a tough season for the 32-year-old, who has just five goals and 12 points in 41 games, and a change of scenery might be what Hamilton needs -- assuming the Devils can find a taker for his contract, which has two years at a $9 million AAV remaining on it.

  • Devils' Dawson Mercer: Two-point effort in win

Mercer produced a goal and an assist in Monday's 5-2 win over the Wild.

The 24-year-old opened the scoring midway through the first period, wiring a shot past Jesper Wallstedt on a feed from behind the net by Nico Hischier. Mercer then helped set up Ondrej Palat for New Jersey's final tally in the third. It was Mercer's first multi-point performance since Nov. 29, while the goal was only his second in 21 games since then. On the season, he's managed 12 goals and 28 points in 46 contests.

  • Devils' Ondrej Palat: Strikes twice in Monday's win

Palat scored two goals in Monday's 5-2 win over the Wild.

The veteran winger bookended a four-goal surge by the Devils that broke the game open after it was tied 1-1 late in the second period. Palat snapped a 19-game goal drought with the performance, a stretch in which he's eked out just three assists. On the season, he has only four goals and 10 points in 46 contests, putting him on pace for his least productive full season in the NHL.

  • Devils' Jesper Bratt: Lights lamp twice in Minnesota

Bratt scored two goals, one the game-winner, in Monday's 5-2 victory over the Wild.

With the Devils ahead 2-1 in the third period, Bratt struck twice in 21 seconds to put the game out of reach. The 27-year-old winger has been feast or famine over the last month or so, managing five goals and seven points in the last 13 games but with three multi-point performances.

  • Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Cruises to win Monday

Markstrom stopped 20 shots in Monday's 5-2 win over the Wild.

The Devils never trailed in the game, taking the lead for good on an Ondrej Palat tally late in the second period. It was a strong bounce-back effort from Markstrom after he got shelled for nine goals by the Islanders in his last outing Jan. 6, but that disaster was the only time he's given up more than three goals since the beginning of December. Over 11 appearances during that stretch, Markstrom's gone 4-6-0 with a 3.20 GAA and an .884 save percentage.

  • Devils' Johnny Kovacevic: Assist in season debut

Kovacevic notched an assist and blocked two shots in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Jets.

Kovacevic missed the first three months of the season while recovering from knee surgery. He logged 18:14 of ice time in his season debut, playing on the second pairing. He'll be more of a shutdown defenseman than a scorer -- he had a career-high 17 points in 81 regular-season outings last season while adding 102 hits and 99 blocked shots. The bigger change with Kovacevic's return is the potential exit of Dougie Hamilton, who was a healthy scratch Sunday. The Devils are deep on the blue line and can afford to make a move, but it would likely be Simon Nemec who benefits the most if Hamilton is ultimately traded, while Kovacevic may still pick up some extra defensive minutes.

  • Devils' Nico Hischier: Gets goal in loss

Hischier scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Jets.

Hischier has three goals over his last six games after going 13 contests over the bulk of December without scoring. The 27-year-old center is still looking to improve his consistency, and he has just two multi-point efforts since the start of December, so he hasn't been very explosive either. He's up to 13 goals, 33 points, 120 shots on net, 41 blocked shots, 36 hits and a minus-6 rating over 45 outings this season, mainly in a top-line role.

  • Devils' Luke Hughes: Two-point effort Sunday

Hughes picked up two assists in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Jets.

The 22-year-old blueliner had a hand in tallies by Nico Hischier in the first period and Cody Glass in the second. Hughes has gotten onto the scoresheet in two straight games, the first time he's managed that since late November, and on the season he's produced five goals and 24 points in 45 contests.

  • Devils' Jack Hughes: Two helpers in Sunday's loss

Hughes pocketed two assists in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Jets.

Both helpers came on Cody Glass goals in the second period. Hughes has gone nine straight games without finding the back of the net himself, but the 24-year-old has collected six assists over the last six contests. On the season, Hughes has 11 goals and 27 points in 27 games.

  • Devils' Cody Glass: Lights lamp twice in loss

Glass scored two goals in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Jets.

Both tallies came in the first 8:08 of the second period, giving the Devils a 3-2 lead, but the visitors' offense went cold the rest of the way. Glass had just one point, a goal, in the prior 12 games, and on the season he has nine goals but just 11 points in 34 contests.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Downed by Jets

Allen made 18 saves in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Winnipeg.

Some bad bounces led to the Jets' three goals in the first two periods, and Allen had little chance on Tanner Pearson's game-winner in the third, a tap-in from right on the veteran netminder's doorstep. Allen has just one win in his last six starts, going 1-3-2 while allowing 19 goals on 172 shots (.889 save percentage).

  • Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Set to start Monday

Markstrom is expected to guard the road goal against Minnesota on Monday, per Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News.

Markstrom will get the second half of New Jersey's back-to-back after Jake Allen plays in Sunday's road matchup against Winnipeg. The 35-year-old Markstrom surrendered nine goals on only 24 shots in Tuesday's 9-0 loss to the Islanders. He has a 10-10-1 record with a 3.48 GAA and an .878 save percentage through 22 appearances this season. Minnesota is tied for 16th in the league with 3.11 goals per game during the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Tending twine Sunday

Allen will defend the road net against Winnipeg on Sunday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Allen is coming off a 25-save effort in Thursday's 4-1 loss to Pittsburgh. He has gone 11-10-1 this season with one shutout, a 2.61 GAA and a .909 save percentage through 23 appearances. Winnipeg is tied for 21st in the league with 2.91 goals per game during the 2025-26 campaign.
