  • Wild's Jake Middleton: Snaps drought with goal

Middleton scored a goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Blues.

Middleton was in the right place at the right time, picking up the puck after some miscommunication by the Blues in their own zone. He fired home the Wild's lone goal of the game at 12:47 of the second period. Middleton ended his 10-game point drought and is now at a career-high eight goals while adding 11 assists, 85 shots on net, 80 hits, 139 blocked shots, 40 PIM and a plus-12 rating over 56 appearances. He'll continue to see heavy defensive minutes while Jonas Brodin (lower body) is sidelined.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Yields four goals in loss

Gustavsson stopped 22 of 26 shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Blues. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.

Gustavsson gave up three goals before the Wild got on the board, and they didn't have enough to challenge the Blues. With a 3-3-1 record and 17 goals allowed over his last seven outings, Gustavsson's performance has been pretty pedestrian lately. He's now at a 25-15-4 record over 45 games, while also maintaining a 2.60 GAA and a .914 save percentage. The Wild continue their seven-game homestand with a potentially challenging matchup against the Kings on Monday.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Facing Blues

Gustavsson will patrol the home crease versus St. Louis on Saturday, per Michael Russo of The Athletic.

Gustavsson is 3-1-1 in his last five starts with a 1.77 GAA and a .937 save percentage. The 26-year-old netminder has posted a 25-14-4 record with four shutouts, a 2.57 GAA and a .915 save percentage across 44 contests in 2024-25. St. Louis is tied for 21st in the league with 2.82 goals per game this campaign.

  • Wild's Jake Middleton: Slows down on offense

Middleton's point drought reached 10 games in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Rangers.

Middleton was tracking toward a career year early in the season, but an 11-game absence due to a hand injury has hampered his efforts. Since he returned with a two-point effort Jan. 7, he's been limited to three points across his last 25 outings and none in his last 10. For the season, the blueliner is at seven goals, 11 assists, a plus-13 rating, 82 shots on net, 79 hits, 136 blocked shots and 40 PIM over 55 appearances. The 20-point mark is still in reach if he can steer out of the slump, but it's increasingly unlikely he'll match his 25-point total from last year.

  • Wild's Ryan Hartman: Collects power-play helper

Hartman notched a power-play assist, four shots on goal and two hits in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Rangers.

Hartman has three points (two on the power play) over five contests since returning from an eight-game suspension. The 30-year-old set up Frederick Gaudreau for the game-tying goal at 8:42 of the third period. Hartman now has 20 points (five on the power play), 121 shots on net, 59 hits, 65 PIM and a minus-9 rating over 53 outings this season. He's moved around the lineup a bit, but he's a key part of the Wild's depth scoring, giving him modest fantasy appeal in deeper formats.

  • Wild's Gustav Nyquist: First point since trade

Nyquist logged a power-play assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Rangers.

Nyquist snapped a five-game point drought with the helper, his first point in six outings since he was dealt to Minnesota from Nashville. The 35-year-old has claimed a top-six role in his second stint with the team, but he's not doing enough on offense to justify a roster spot in fantasy. Dating back to his time with the Predators, he has just two helpers across his last 16 outings. For the season, Nyquist is at 22 points, 81 shots on net, 33 hits and a minus-22 rating over 63 appearances.

  • Wild's Jared Spurgeon: Dishes two power-play assists

Spurgeon notched two power-play assists and two hits in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Rangers.

Spurgeon has somewhat quietly earned five points over his last five outings, three of which have been power-play helpers. He had a hand in goals by Marcus Johansson and Frederick Gaudreau in this contest. Spurgeon is up to 26 points (eight on the power play), 83 shots on net, 91 blocked shots, 41 hits and a plus-8 rating over 51 appearances. That's better than a 40-point pace for a full year, and while injuries have prevented Spurgeon from getting to that level, he's played well enough to be rostered in fantasy down the stretch.

  • Wild's Frederick Gaudreau: Nets power-play equalizer

Gaudreau scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Rangers.

Gaudreau's tally in the third period tied the game at 2-2, and it was enough to force the extra session. The center had gone three contests without a point, but that followed a stretch of four goals and two assists over seven outings. For the season, he's been a decent depth scorer with 15 goals, 30 points, 91 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over 66 appearances. That's double his point total from 67 games in 2023-24, but he's unlikely to end up anywhere near his career-high 44 points from 2021-22.

  • Wild's Marcus Johansson: Tallies on power play

Johansson scored a power-play goal, added two PIM and went minus-2 in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Rangers.

Johansson scored for the first time since Jan. 7, a span of 16 games without a goal, which also includes the winger missing eight contests to a concussion. The tally tied the game at 1-1 early in the third period. Johansson is up to six goals, 24 points, 94 shots on net, 33 hits and a minus-3 rating across 57 appearances. His modest numbers across the board aren't great for fantasy, though he has seen steady time on the second line throughout the campaign.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Falls in overtime

Gustavsson stopped 28 of 31 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Rangers.

The Wild were able to cash in on two of four power plays, erasing a pair of one-goal deficits, while Gustavsson did well to keep things close. Braden Schneider delivered the game-winner at 1:51 of the extra session, sending Gustavsson to his third loss in six outings (3-2-1). In that span, he's allowed just 13 goals, so he has largely continued to play well recently after struggling at times in December and January. The netminder is 25-14-4 on the year with a 2.57 GAA and a .915 save percentage over 44 starts. The Wild continue their homestand against the Blues on Saturday in a game that would be helpful for the Wild to win and put some distance between them and the pack of teams competing for the second wild-card spot out west.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Tending twine against Rangers

Gustavsson will patrol the crease for Thursday's home clash with the Rangers, Sarah McLellan of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

Gustavsson has appeared in five of the Wild's last six outings, a span in which he posted a 3-2-0 record and 1.98 GAA. With no back-to-backs on Minnesota's short-term schedule, the 26-year-old netminder should continue to see the bulk of the workload moving forward -- though veteran Marc-Andre Fleury could get the occasional spot start along the way.

  • Wild's Jon Merrill: In lineup, but offense absent

Merrill played in his sixth straight game in Tuesday's 2-1 shootout win over the Avalanche.

Merrill has gone minus-3 in that span, and his overall point drought is up to 21 games. Still, the Wild appear to trust him to fill in on the third pairing while Jonas Brodin (lower body) is out rather than moving a different blueliner to their off side to get David Jiricek in action. Merrill has just four points, 37 shots on net, 71 blocked shots, 31 hits and a minus-5 rating over 54 appearances this season.

  • Wild's Mats Zuccarello: Fifth point in last six games

Zuccarello scored a goal Tuesday, and also tallied in the shootout, in a 2-1 SO victory over the Avalanche.

Zuccarello put the Wild up 1-0 at the midpoint of the second period. He took a crisp pass from Marco Rossi and wired a quick wrister from in front. It was his fifth point, including three goals, in his last six games. Zuccarello, who is 37, hasn't really shown any effects of age, and he's put up 41 points (15 goals, 26 assists) in 52 games so far. There has been a decline in his power-play production, though. Zuke has just 11 PPP in 2024-25 after three consecutive seasons with at least 28 PPP.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Difference maker against Avs

Gustavsson stopped 27 of 28 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 shootout victory over the Avalanche.

Gustavsson stopped two attempts in the shootout. He's now 25-14-3 with a 2.56 GAA and a .915 save percentage in 43 starts for the Wild this season, and he's 6-4-0 with one shutout and 24 goals allowed across his past 10 outings. Gustavsson hasn't quite resurrected his greatness from his first campaign in Minny (22-9-7 with a 2.10 GAA and a .931 save percentage), but he's shown that he's a lot more than his forgettable 2023-24.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Facing Avalanche

Gustavsson will patrol the home crease versus Colorado on Tuesday, per Jessi Pierce of NHL.com.

Gustavsson has lost three of his last five outings, surrendering 12 goals on 128 shots and earning one shutout. He has a 24-14-3 record with four shutouts, a 2.60 GAA and a .914 save percentage across 42 appearances this season. Colorado sits sixth in the league with 3.35 goals per game in 2024-25 and blanked Chicago on Monday with a 3-0 victory.
