Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Gets no help in loss
Soderblom allowed three goals on 23 shots in Saturday's 4-0 loss to the Red Wings. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.
Soderblom was torched by the Red Wings' second line, which combined for a pair of tallies within the first five minutes of the game. This was Soderblom's fourth straight loss, and it was his best performance in that span, which isn't saying much since he's now allowed 23 goals on 136 shots during the skid. For the year, he's at a 3-6-1 record with a 3.84 GAA and an .876 save percentage over 10 outings. The Blackhawks appear to be committed to keeping Soderblom in the backup role, but the team also needs to act on Laurent Brossoit (hip) soon, as his conditioning loan with AHL Rockford is set to end Tuesday. If Brossoit joins the big club or is swapped for another goalie, Soderblom's NHL roster spot could be at risk.

Blackhawks' Jack Pridham: Hat trick in Kitchener's win
Pridham scored three goals in OHL Kitchener's 5-4 shootout win over Saginaw on Saturday.
Pridham had gone a little quiet with two assists over his previous four outings before this breakout game. The 20-year-old winger is up to 17 goals and 35 points over 30 appearances this season, a pace identical to the 27 goals and 54 points he logged in 48 regular-season contests a year ago. Pridham's scoring touch is evident, and he could be a nice middle-six winger for the Blackhawks in a few years.

Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Not going on road trip
Bedard (shoulder) is not expected to be on the Blackhawks' road trip through Eastern Canada, which starts Tuesday in Toronto, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Bedard's MRI results haven't been revealed, but it's not encouraging that he's being held off the trip. The Blackhawks have just one home game between the end of the road trip and the holiday break, so it's possible the team will just give him the extra time to rest. A firm timeline for his return hasn't been established.

Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Getting start versus Detroit
Soderblom will guard the home goal versus the Red Wings on Saturday, Tracey Myers of NHL.com reports.
Soderblom has allowed 20 goals on 113 shots during his three-game losing streak. He's not in a particularly good spot for this contest, as the Blackhawks are in the second half of a back-to-back. The Red Wings have scored 23 goals over their last six games, going 4-1-1 in that span.

Blackhawks' Nick Lardis: Called up Saturday
Lardis was recalled from AHL Rockford on Saturday.
The Blackhawks need a 13th forward as Connor Bedard is out of action after injuring his shoulder Friday. Lardis has been lighting it up in the AHL in his first full professional season, tallying 13 goals and 26 points in 24 games, good for sixth place in AHL scoring, as well as leading all rookies in points. He could make his NHL debut against Detroit on Saturday.

Blackhawks' Wyatt Kaiser: Scores in Friday's loss
Kaiser scored a goal on three shots in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Blues.
Kaiser has two goals over his last five games, which are his only tallies this season. The defenseman is up to six points, 31 shots on net, 29 blocked shots, 20 hits, 16 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 31 appearances. He's seeing steady ice time in a third-pairing role, but he has limited upside in fantasy since he doesn't tend to get involved much on offense.

Blackhawks' Andre Burakovsky: One of each in loss
Burakovsky scored a goal and added an assist in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Blues.
Burakovsky set up Wyatt Kaiser's goal in the first period before scoring one of his own in the third. The goal was Burakovsky's first since Nov. 9 versus the Red Wings, a span of 10 games without a goal in which he racked up five assists. The 30-year-old winger is at eight tallies, 13 helpers, 34 shots on net and a plus-3 rating through 26 appearances. He's been in a top-line role lately, but Connor Bedard (shoulder) will be out for at least Saturday's game versus Detroit, which will negatively impact Burakovsky's production as well.

Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Stuck with loss against Blues
Knight allowed three goals on 26 shots in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Blues.
Knight continues to alternate between wins and losses, which is better than the skid he had near the end of November. A pair of first-period tallies and Justin Faulk's decisive goal in the second sunk Knight in this contest. He's down to a 10-7-5 record with a 2.52 GAA and a .915 save percentage over 22 outings this season. The Blackhawks are back in action at home Saturday versus the Red Wings, which is likely to be a start for Arvid Soderblom.

Blackhawks' Laurent Brossoit: Goalie goal in AHL win
Brossoit (hip) stopped 33 of 36 shots and scored a goal in AHL Rockford's 5-3 win over Milwaukee on Friday.
Brossoit has gone 2-1-0 with 10 goals allowed on 100 shots over his first three games on his conditioning loan. He was loaned Dec. 2 and can stay with the IceHogs for two weeks, so he is starting to run out of time. The Blackhawks are looking for a change of scenery for the netminder, who is coming off surgeries on his knee and hip that have kept him out of action since April of 2024. If no trade can be arranged, he could be waived to stay with Rockford, though it doesn't look like he'll immediately be in contention for NHL action.

Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Sustains injury late in loss
Bedard sustained an apparent shoulder injury late in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Blues and won't play Saturday versus the Red Wings, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Bedard is set to be evaluated further with an update expected Monday. He was injured on the last faceoff of the game Friday when he was checked to the ice by Brayden Schenn. Bedard had two assists in the contest, giving him 44 points through 31 outings this season. The extent of his injury will be revealed at a later time, but fantasy managers may want to prepare for a longer absence.

Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: In goal Friday
Knight will protect the road goal versus the Blues on Friday, Matthew DeFranks of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Knight posted a shutout in a 3-0 win over the Rangers on Wednesday to pick up his third win in his last five outings. The 24-year-old continues to operate as the Blackhawks' No. 1 in goal. This is a favorable matchup for him Friday, as the Blues are coming off a 7-2 loss to the Predators on Thursday.

Blackhawks' Marek Vanacker: Pots pair in Brantford's win
Vanacker scored twice in OHL Brantford's 8-4 win over Erie on Thursday.
Vanacker's two-goal effort got him up to a goal-per-game pace this season. He has 26 tallies and 15 assists over 26 appearances for the OHL's top offense. He's been hot lately with five goals and three assists over his last four outings.

Blackhawks' Matt Grzelcyk: Snaps slump with helper
Grzelcyk registered an assist and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Rangers.
Grzelcyk had gone 13 games without a point entering Wednesday. The 31-year-old defenseman has largely disappointed to begin his Chicago tenure, earning a mere five assists in 30 contests just one year after his 40-point effort in 82 games for the Penguins. However, Grzelcyk could claim some extra time on the second power-play unit while Sam Rinzel is with AHL Rockford.

Blackhawks' Louis Crevier: Nets shorthanded goal
Crevier scored a shorthanded goal on three shots, added two PIM, logged two hits and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Rangers.
Crevier snapped his 10-game point drought with a surprising tally for a defenseman, as he got up on the rush while on the penalty kill. This was both his first shorthanded tally and first game-winning goal in his career. The 24-year-old already has a career-high 11 points with 39 shots on net, 40 hits, 21 blocked shots, 35 PIM and a plus-7 rating over 29 appearances. The Blackhawks are expected to utilize six defensemen for a while after starting the year with seven blueliners in the lineup frequently, so Crevier could see a bump in ice time from his 14:17 average so far.

Blackhawks' Tyler Bertuzzi: Scores versus Rangers
Bertuzzi scored a goal in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Rangers.
Bertuzzi found the back of the net at the 3:52 mark of the third period with a wrister. That was his 16th goal of the season, and he continues to show excellent chemistry with Connor Bedard, who set up the goal. Bertuzzi has been playing well of late and has scored in four of Chicago's last six games. He's also cracked the scoresheet in eight of his 11 appearances since returning from a two-game absence due to an undisclosed injury.

Blackhawks' Connor Bedard: Two points in win
Bedard recorded a goal, an assist and three shots in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Rangers.
Bedard scored the Blackhawks' second goal with a snap shot at the 14:27 mark of the second period, and he also assisted on Tyler Bertuzzi's third-period tally. Bedard is up to 42 points this season, tallying 19 goals and 23 assists. He's also cracked the scoresheet in five of the Blackhawks' last six games.
