Shesterkin stopped 23 shots in Monday's 5-1 loss to the Devils.
The Rangers are in a deep funk right now, losing six of their last seven games, and Shesterkin hasn't been able to steal any wins to help turn the ship around. Turnovers and defensive breakdowns led to the Devils' two first-period tallies, while all three of New Jersey's second-period goals came on power plays. Shesterkin has dropped five straight decisions, and since the beginning of November, he's gone 4-7-0 in 11 starts with an uncharacteristic 3.46 GAA and .899 save percentage.

Shesterkin has stopped 144 of 157 shots during his four-game losing skid. He has posted a record of 8-8-1 with one shutout, a 2.93 GAA and a .913 save percentage through 17 appearances this campaign. Shesterkin stopped 32 of 34 shots in a 3-1 loss to the Flyers on Friday. The final goal was scored on an empty net.
Shesterkin got into trouble early, surrendering two goals in the first 4:24 minutes of the game. He was perfect after that, but the Rangers were unable to recover from the early deficit. Shesterkin has now lost each of his past four starts, dropping to 8-8-1 in 2024-25. The 28-year-old star goaltender did everything in his power to avoid the defeat at home Monday, but the Blues scored two goals in the opening 10 minutes of the third period to pull away for good. Although Shesterkin has lost his past two starts while navigating amid an uneven stretch in November, fantasy managers shouldn't be worried about what he can bring to the table. The 46 saves were a season high for Shesterkin, who is now 1-2-0 with eight goals allowed over three games in which he's seen 40 or more shots. Shesterkin hasn't exactly been in stellar form of late, going 2-2-0 in his last four outings, including a pair of contests in which he gave up five goals apiece. Still, the 28-year-old backstop is the unquestioned No. 1 option in the Big Apple. Heading into the contest, Shesterkin was ahead of opposing goalie Connor Hellebuyck in high-danger saves (73 vs. 70) and also led him in midrange save percentage (.941 vs. .899), but the Russian was far behind in traditional counting stats like GAA (2.85 vs. 1.92) and save percentage (.913 vs. .934). Shesterkin played a solid game against the Jets, but his teammates coughed up the puck a couple of times and that was all the Jets needed to pounce. Unfortunately, he ends up in the record books as the goalie in net when the Jets became the fastest team to 15 wins in NHL history (16 games).
