  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Tallies twice in win

Draisaitl scored a pair of goals in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Blue Jackets. Draisaitl had gone two games without a goal for just the second time this season. He tallied a go-ahead goal in the second period and an insurance marker on the power play in the third. The 29-year-old is up to 19 goals, 34 points (eight on the power play), 72 shots on net and a plus-12 rating over 26 appearances this season. Draisaitl is once again tied with Florida's Sam Reinhart for the league lead in goals.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Scores fluky goal early in loss

Draisaitl scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Wild. Draisaitl's goal came from his own end, with the puck just hopping past Marc-Andre Fleury's stick 27 seconds into the game. They all look the same on paper, and Draisaitl now has six goals to go with six assists over his last seven outings. The 29-year-old's 15 tallies this season put him in a three-way tie for the league lead, and he's added 13 helpers, 56 shots on net and a plus-8 rating through 21 appearances. Draisaitl could stay alongside Connor McDavid on the top line as long as Zach Hyman (undisclosed) is out.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Among best ever against Sens

Draisaitl had a goal and two assists in a 5-2 win against Ottawa on Tuesday. Draisaitl is second all-time in career points/game (min. 25 games) against the Sens with 1.48. Teammate Connor McDavid sits on top of that list with 1.80. Draisaitl has five outings and six assists in his last six games and 27, including 14 goals, in 20 appearances this season. It was the 43rd time that McDavid and Draisaitl each had at least three points in a game. That's the most among active duos in the NHL. Overall, he is one goal from the top of the sniper list in the NHL, and with Alex Ovechkin week-to-week with a lower leg injury, Draisaitl looks to climb to the top of that chart in short order.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Four-game, eight-point streak

Draisaitl scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs. Late in the third, Draisaitl forced overtime when he stuffed a loose puck to the right of the crease past a sprawling Anthony Stolarz with Stuart Skinner pulled for the extra attacker. Draisaitl has put up four consecutive two-point games (four goals, four assists), and he has 24 points, including 13 goals, in 18 games this season. His 13 goals tie him with Sam Reinhart of the Panthers for the league lead. Two words: fantasy gold.

Draisaitl scored a goal on three shots, added two assists and went plus-2 in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Flames. Draisaitl opened the scoring 20 seconds into the game and helped out on goals by Zach Hyman (power play) and Mattias Janmark (empty net) in the third period. This was Draisaitl's third three-point effort over his last four games. He's admirably filling the void created by Connor McDavid's absence due to an ankle injury. Draisaitl is up to nine goals, 16 points (three on the power play), 32 shots on net, 10 PIM and a plus-5 rating through 12 contests.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Three more points in win

Draisaitl scored two goals on three shots, dished an assist and went plus-3 in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Predators. Draisaitl loves Nashville, but the feeling isn't mutual -- he has racked up 46 points over 28 career contests against the Predators. This was his second three-point effort in the last three games. The 29-year-old will be tasked with carrying the load on offense while Connor McDavid (ankle) misses the next 2-3 weeks. It's a role Draisaitl shouldn't have trouble filling as a five-time 100-point man. This season, he's collected eight goals, five assists, 29 shots on net, 10 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 11 appearances.

The star forward extended his point streak to six (five goals, four assists) while having a hand in all three of Edmonton's markers Sunday. • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Credited with assist Tuesday

Draisaitl recorded a power-play assist in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Hurricanes. Draisaitl extended his point streak to four games with his power-play helper Tuesday, but it wasn't enough to avoid another defeat for the Oilers, as Edmonton wasted a two-goal lead to suffer an overtime loss. Draisaitl has stayed productive despite the team's woes and has tallied six points over his last six games, with three goals and three assists.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Scores lone goal in loss

Draisaitl scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars. Draisaitl broke up Jake Oettinger's shutout bid at 17:38 of the third period. Through six contests, Draisaitl has done alright with three goals, two assists, 13 shots on net and eight PIM. It's a lower scoring rate than we're used to seeing from the 28-year-old, but with the Oilers shaking off a slow start, it's fair to expect Draisaitl's offense to pick up as the season progresses.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Leads comeback effort

Draisaitl scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Flyers. Draisaitl took a reckless penalty late in the second period and ended up getting benched early in the third. He responded immediately, helping out on Evan Bouchard's game-tying goal before burying a rebound for the game-winner 56 seconds into overtime. Draisaitl is up to two goals, one assist, 10 shots on net, four hits, eight PIM and a minus-2 rating through four contests. Draisaitl had a career-high 76 PIM over 81 regular-season outings last year, so it will be important for him to find a way to get that issue under control to avoid gifting opponents power plays.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Strikes on power play in loss

Draisaitl scored a power-play goal and added two PIM in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Blackhawks. Draisaitl tallied midway through the third period, but it didn't lead to a comeback rally for the Oilers. It's been a slow start to the year for the defending Western Conference champions, who have just two goals through two games. Draisaitl has one tally, four shots on net, four PIM, two hits and a minus-3 rating while centering the second line.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: One of each Wednesday

Draisaitl scored a power-play goal on three shots, notched an assist, logged two hits, added two PIM and went minus-2 in Wednesday's 6-2 preseason loss to the Kraken. Draisaitl scored a goal of his own and set up Travis Dermott as the Oilers erased a 2-0 deficit, but that was the extent of their offense. The 28-year-old Draisaitl has produced three points and seven shots on net in three preseason outings. He'll see significant ice time in all situations once again in 2024-25 with his sights set on earning a sixth 100-point season in seven years.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Signs massive eight-year deal

Draisaitl signed an eight-year, $112 million contract with Edmonton on Tuesday. Draisaitl's new contract will go into effect beginning in the 2025-26 season and contains an annual average value of $14 million, which will make him the highest-paid player in the NHL -- even above teammate Connor McDavid and Toronto's Auston Matthews. The 2023-24 campaign could be termed a down season for the 28-year-old center, considering he failed to reach the 50-goal threshold for the first time in the previous three seasons and was limited to just 39 power-play points -- down from 62 in 2022-23. Still, Draisaitl should be a near lock to reach 100 points in 2024-25, as his durability is matched by few others. He's missed just five games over the past four campaigns.
