Stamkos set up the first of Jonathan Marchessault's two goals in the game. During Stamkos' eight-game goal drought, he has mustered just three assists and 13 shots on net. The 34-year-old forward has 14 points, 68 shots, 26 hits, 18 PIM and a minus-14 rating over 29 appearances. He'll likely continue to center the top line until Ryan O'Reilly (lower body) is ready to return.

Stamkos has three goals and two assists over his last seven contests, with four of those five points coming on the power play. The man advantage hasn't been a problem for the Predators, but the team's 5-on-5 play has left a lot to be desired from top to bottom. Stamkos is at 13 points (nine on the power play), 63 shots on net, 23 hits and a minus-14 rating over his first 25 appearances with Nashville.

Stamkos found the back of the net in the early stages of the third period, giving Nashville an advantage the team didn't relinquish. He potted his seventh goal of the season, and he has three tallies in his last three appearances. Still, Stamkos' numbers continue to be subpar compared to what he did with the Lightning in recent years. He has only 11 points in 21 contests so far.

The 34-year-old now has six goals, 10 points (eight on the power play), 50 shots on net, 15 hits and a minus-13 rating over 19 games. Stamkos still has the talent to make a big impact, but it's clear he and his new teammates are still getting used to each other.

Stamkos is playing on the top line, but it would be encouraging to see him and his Predators teammates start to generate more even-strength offense.

It was Stammer's first trip back to face the team that drafted him, and it was an emotional one. During a break in the action, the Lightning played a tribute video and fans and the entire Bolts' team and staff stood and applauded a visibly emotional Stamkos. He's had a slow start to 2024-25 -- the assists were his first of the season, and he only has three points in nine games. Stick with him -- he'll deliver soon enough. Transitioning to a new team is never easy.

The Predators' biggest signing in free agency is still looking for chemistry with his new teammates. There's reason to think Stamkos has just been unlucky -- he has 14 shots on net so far. At last year's 15.3 shooting percentage, he would have netted two goals with his average luck. Fantasy managers may want to buy low on Stamkos, as there probably won't be any looking back once his offense comes to life.
