Colts' Braden Smith: Won't play versus Denver
Smith (personal) isn't expected to play in Sunday's game versus the Broncos, Nate Atkins of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Smith is expected to miss his second straight game as he is still tending to a personal matter. In the 2018 second-round pick's absence, Matt Goncalves will get the start at right tackle once again.

Colts' Tanor Bortolini: Full go in practice
Bortolini (concussion) was a full participant in Indianapolis' practice Wednesday.
Bortolini missed the team's Week 13 win over the Patriots due to a concussion but is now closer to making his return. If he manages to clear the league's concussion protocol, he will resume his duties as the team's starting center for Sunday's matchup versus the Broncos.

Colts' Ashton Dulin: Opens week as DNP
Dulin (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday.
Dulin missed the Colts' Week 13 win over the Patriots and has yet to return to practice since sustaining an ankle injury the game prior. The Malone product will likely be sidelined for the second consecutive game in a Week 15 matchup against the Broncos if he can't practice in a limited fashion Thursday or Friday. However, if he can play in Sunday's contest, he'll primarily add value to Indianapolis' special-teams unit.

Colts' Josh Downs: Limited in return to practice
Downs (shoulder) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday.
Following the Colts' Week 14 bye, Downs -- who sat out a Week 13 win over the Patriots with the shoulder injury -- is trending in the right direction by getting back on the practice field. The wideout has two more opportunities this week to upgrade to full practice participation, and if he can get to that point, he could approach Sunday's game against the Broncos minus an injury designation.

Colts' Jaylon Carlies: Designated to return
Carlies (lower leg) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday.
The rookie linebacker from Missouri sustained a lower leg injury in the Colts' Week 7 win over the Dolphins and has missed all six of Indianapolis' games since. However, Carlies returned to practice Wednesday, opening the 21-day window for him to be added back to the active roster. Expect the 23-year-old to contribute on both defense and special teams once he's fully past his lower leg injury.

Colts' Ryan Kelly: Practice window opens
Kelly (knee) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday.
The veteran offensive lineman has missed the Colts' last four games after being placed on IR due to a knee injury, but Wednesday's return to practice suggests he's almost past the issue. If Kelly is activated to Indianapolis' active roster in time, he could suit up for Sunday's matchup against the Broncos.

Colts' JuJu Brents: Practice window not opening yet
Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Wednesday the team is not yet designating Brents (knee) to return from IR, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Brents, who was placed on IR after injuring his knee during Indianapolis' regular-season opener, has technically been eligible to resume practicing since early October. It doesn't appear as though the second-year pro has a significant chance of returning for Sunday's road matchup against the Broncos, though, which will leave him with just three more opportunities to get back on the field before the conclusion of the regular season.

Colts' Josh Downs: In line to practice
Downs (shoulder) is slated to practice Wednesday, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.
Downs -- who suffered a right shoulder injury in the Colts' Week 12 loss to the Lions -- missed a Week 13 win over the Patriots, but following the team's Week 14 bye, the wideout has progressed to the point that he'll work in some capacity Wednesday. The Colts' first Week 15 injury report will be released later Wednesday and will reveal whether Downs was a limited or full participant to kick off the team's prep for Sunday's game in Denver.
