Packers' Carrington Valentine: Starts seven games in second season
Valentine finished the 2024 season with 32 tackles (18 solo), five pass breakups, including two interceptions, and two forced fumbles across 15 regular-season contests.
Selected in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Valentine has become a key contributor on Green Bay's defense. After starting 12 games as a rookie, Valentine made another seven starts this past season, seeing action on 57 percent of the defensive snaps as a sub-package cornerback. He was pressed into a bigger role with Jaire Alexander missing 10 games and parts of several others due to knee, quadriceps and groin injuries. In an ideal world for Green Bay, Valentine would likely be the fourth cornerback and a special-teams contributor, but he's shown he can hang when pressed into action.

Packers' Carrington Valentine: Adds another interception in loss
Valentine recorded two solo tackles and an interception in Sunday's 27-25 loss to Minnesota.
Valentine played a season-high 70 defensive snaps in Week 17, most notably picking off Sam Darnold in the third quarter. The interception was his second of the year, both of which have come within the last three games. The cornerback is now up to 28 total tackles (15 solo), while also adding five passes defensed, including two interceptions, and a forced fumble over 14 games this season.

Packers' Carrington Valentine: Logs first INT of 2024
Valentine registered three tackles (one solo) and two pass defenses (including an interception) during Green Bay's 30-13 win over Seattle this past Sunday.
Valentine got the start at outside cornerback this past Sunday due to Jaire Alexander (knee) being sidelined with an injury. Valentine ended up playing 55 defensive snaps and nabbed his first interception of the regular season when he picked off a Geno Smith pass intended for Noah Fant late in the second quarter, which halted the Seahawks' red zone drive in the process. Valentine could start at outside corner opposite Keisean Nixon against the Saints on Monday if Alexander is unable to progress in his recovery enough to play.

Packers' Carrington Valentine: Impresses in Week 11
Valentine recorded nine total tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 20-19 win over the Bears.
The second-year corner from Kentucky capitalized on his increased snaps with the Packers' first-team defense after Jaire Alexander exited Sunday's win due to an aggravation of his knee injury, tying Xavier McKinney as the team's leading tackler. Valentine hasn't seen much defensive work this season after being an integral part of the Packers' defense during his rookie campaign. He's posted 15 total tackles and one pass defended through Green Bay's first 10 regular-season games in 2024. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Alexander's injury is not believed to be serious, so Valentine will likely resume his role as the Packers' top backup corner in Week 12, when the 49ers visit Green Bay.

Packers' Carrington Valentine: Cleared for Week 5
Valentine (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Rams, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
Valentine missed back-to-back games due to an ankle injury but will return in Week 5. He'll likely start opposite Eric Stokes, as Jaire Alexander (groin) is inactive for a second straight week. Valentine drew a handful of starts last season, but he's played only 38 defensive snaps this season.
