The Patriots claimed Murphy off waivers from the Chargers on Monday.
Murphy will get a new opportunity with the Patriots after being waived by the Chargers on Saturday. The third-year linebacker logged 12 tackles (five solo) and a half sack across six games with the Chargers prior to being cut.

Titans' Caleb Murphy: Past shoulder issue
Murphy (shoulder) was spotted participating at the Titans' minicamp session Wednesday, Mike Moraitis of USA Today reports.
The Ferris State product was inactive for the Titans' 2023 season finale due to a shoulder issue, but he appears to have no restrictions for minicamp. Murphy appeared in four games and played 44 total snaps (40 on special teams) during his rookie campaign.

Titans' Caleb Murphy: Out Sunday
Murphy (shoulder) is inactive ahead of Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
The 24-year-old was listed as questionable for Sunday's affair after a week of limited practice sessions, but it seems as if his shoulder issue will stop him from suiting up in Week 18. Expect Rashad Weaver to see increased snaps as a rotational outside linebacker in Murphy's stead.

Titans' Caleb Murphy: Leaves game with shoulder injury
Murphy (shoulder) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
Davenport adds that trainers took Murphy to the locker room and that he wasn't wearing any shoulder pads when he went inside. He's playing his second game of the season, with him last appearing in a game Week 4 against the Bengals.

Murphy (shoulder) has returned to Sunday's game against the Seahawks after leaving earlier in the first half, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
The depth linebacker made a tackle on special teams after coming back in, per Davenport. It was Murphy's first tackle of both the game and season.
