Bears' D'Andre Swift: On track to play Sunday
Swift (groin/personal) remains listed as questionable but is expected to play Sunday against the Giants, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Swift missed last Sunday's win over the Bengals, paving the way for rookie Kyle Monangai to step into a leading role en route to finishing with 198 yards from scrimmage on 29 touches. Monangai's big game prompted head coach Ben Johnson to say Friday that he may take a "hot-hand" approach with Swift and Monangai moving forward, according to Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com. Assuming Swift is formally cleared ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, he'll draw a favorable matchup against the Giants' 31st-ranked run defense, but Monangai's potential to handle an increased role makes Swift a riskier fantasy bet compared to previous weeks.

Bears' D'Andre Swift: Listed as questionable
Swift (groin/personal) didn't practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Swift returned to practice Wednesday as a limited participant before upgrading to full participation Thursday. He then missed practice Friday, with 'personal' added to the injury report (he was previously just listed with the same groin injury that held him out last week). Bears coach Ben Johnson sounded like he expected Swift to play this week, telling reporters earlier Friday that he planned to rely on the "hot hand" between Swift and Kyle Monangai. Johnson didn't say anything about Swift missing practice or potentially missing the upcoming game.

Bears' D'Andre Swift: Facing hot-hand rotation?
Bears head coach Ben Johnson said Friday that he may take a "hot hand" approach with Swift and Kyle Monangai this Sunday against the Giants, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports. "I believe in a guy having the hot hand," Johnson said. "One guy, if he's feeling it and giving us a spark, we might lean on that a little bit longer."
Swift returned to full practice participation Thursday and now figures to start Sunday, coming back from a one-game absence after Monangai took 29 touches for 198 yards in the win over Cincinnati. Monangai's previous high-water marks for snap share had come in Week 7 (45 percent) and Week 8 (46 percent), with his role seemingly growing while Swift played through a groin injury. Those were actually two of Swift's more efficient games this season on a per-touch basis, and he scored a TD in both despite ceding so much work to Monangai. It sounds like the rookie will be heavily involved again this Sunday, with the extent partially depending on how well he and Swift are playing.

Bears' D'Andre Swift: Turns in full practice
Swift (groin) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
A limited participant Wednesday as the Bears kicked off Week 10 prep, Swift's upgrade to full activity a day later puts him on track to return to action Sunday against the Giants. While Swift was out for his first game of the season in the Bears' 47-42 win over the Bengals last weekend, Kyle Monangai (ankle) stepped in as Chicago's lead back and racked up 198 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 29 touches. Swift should return to a starting role in Week 10, but he may be at risk of ceding more work in the wake of Monangai's breakout performance. Bears head coach Ben Johnson may favor a timeshare approach to the backfield in an effort to keep both backs fresh, as Monangai joined Swift as a limited participant in Wednesday's session before practicing fully Thursday.

Bears' D'Andre Swift: Expects to play this week
Swift (groin) returned to practice Wednesday and said afterward that he'll play this Sunday against the Giants, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Swift played through the groin injury for at least two weeks and remained effective, but he was inactive for the shootout win at Cincinnati this past Sunday. He was then a limited participant Wednesday in his return to practice, telling reporters afterward that he wanted to play last week but was held out by the team. Swift said he'll return this week, but fantasy managers still need to track the situation in light of Swift's acknowledgement that the decision isn't necessarily his to make. Fellow Bears running back Kyle Monangai (ankle) was also a limited practice participant Wednesday after taking 26 carries for 176 yards in the thrilling win over Cincinnati.

Bears' D'Andre Swift: Back to limited practice
Swift (groin) was limited in practice Wednesday.
One week removed from not practicing at all before sitting out this past Sunday at Cincinnati due to a lingering groin injury, Swift is back on the field and joined by No. 2 RB Kyle Monangai, who also was limited due to an ankle issue. Monangai dominated a porous Bengals defense Week 9, racking up 198 yards from scrimmage on 29 touches. With their top two backfield options banged up, the situation at the position is up in the air as the Bears prepare to face the Giants on Sunday.

Bears' D'Andre Swift: Ruled out this week
Swift (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Swift played through the same groin injury and remained productive the past few weeks, but he's now set to miss at least one game after not practicing at all during Week 9 prep. Bears coach Ben Johnson discussed Swift's nagging groin injury earlier Friday, telling reporters that the Bears are "just doing our due diligence" and "want to make sure we have [Swift] in a good spot for the whole season," per Adam Jahns of AllCHGO.com. In any case, Kyle Monangai will be Chicago's lead back Sunday, likely taking on a large workload against one of the worst defenses in the league.

Bears' D'Andre Swift: Sits out another practice
Swift (groin) was a non-participant in Thursday's practice.
For the third week in a row, Swift is on the Bears' injury report with a groin issue. He's proceeded to play through the issue in both of the team's last two games, but Swift's availability for this Sunday's game in Cincinnati may be in more peril now that he's failed to practice in any fashion Wednesday and Thursday. What Swift is able to do in Friday's session will go a long way in determining his status heading into the weekend.

Bears' D'Andre Swift: DNP on Wednesday
Swift (groin) didn't practice Wednesday.
Swift was among a number of Bears skill-position players that weren't able to practice to kick off Week 9 prep, the others being WRs Rome Odunze (heel), DJ Moore (hip/groin), Olamide Zaccheaus (knee) and Luther Burden (concussion). Swift has been dealing with a groin injury for three weeks running and followed a DNP/LP/LP practice regimen last week before suiting up this past Sunday at Baltimore, a contest in which he handled a 49 percent snap share and turned 13 touches into 71 yards from scrimmage and one rushing TD. Wednesday's absence may merely be for maintenance purposes, but his status still will be watched as the week continues to get a sense of his odds to continue leading the Bears backfield Sunday at Cincinnati.
