  • Nyheim Hines: Looking for a shot in 2025

Hines (knee) believes his knee is finally ready for a return to NFL action, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Hines suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in a jet-ski accident following the 2022 campaign, which has forced him to miss each of the last two seasons. The running back played in 16 regular-season games between the Colts and Bills in 2022, turning 24 carries into 33 yards while catching 30 of 37 targets for 241 yards and a score. Most notably, he compiled 554 yards and two touchdowns as a punt returner. The 28-year-old will likely get a shot to join a team's special-teams unit again in 2025.

  • Nyheim Miller-Hines: Time in Cleveland ends

Miller-Hines (knee) was released by the Browns on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston Reports.

Miller-Hines was expected to return from an ACL tear at some point during the 2024 campaign, but that never came to fruition. The former Colt and Bill hasn't seen action in an NFL game since 2022, and he'll need to prove he's healthy to get a look from another team.

  • Browns' Nyheim Hines: Won't play in 2024

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday that Hines (knee) won't be activated from the reserve/non-football injury list and will remain sidelined for the rest of the 2024 season, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.

Hines resumed practicing Oct 2, but with his 21-day evaluation window officially coming to an end Wednesday, the Browns didn't have a spot available for him on the 53-man roster. The running back had been working his way back from a torn ACL suffered in July 2023, and though Hines experienced no reported setbacks since he resumed practicing, the Browns already had four other backs on the roster and weren't willing to clear room for him. Though Hines will remain on the NFI list for now, he would be able to play for another team this season if he and the Browns are able to reach an injury settlement.

  • Browns' Nyheim Hines: Won't play vs. Ravens

Coach Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday that Hines (knee) is out for Week 8 versus Baltimore, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.

Hines participated fully in practice ahead of Week 7 but ultimately didn't suit up for that contest either, so it's possible injury alone can't fully explain why he isn't active yet. After the long-awaited return of starter Nick Chubb, the Browns now already have four running backs on their active roster, so even if Hines works his way back into the mix soon, he won't be on the fantasy radar for most formats.

  • Browns' Nyheim Hines: Not activated for Week 7

Hines (knee) was not activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Bengals, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Hines was a full participant in all three practices this week, but he will remain sidelined while in the final stages of his recovery from a torn ACL he suffered in July of 2023. Because his practice window opened Oct. 2, the Browns will need to activate Hines off injured reserve by Wednesday, otherwise he will remain on IR for the rest of the 2024 season. Even without Hines and Jerome Ford (hamstring) for Sunday's game, the Browns are expecting Nick Chubb (knee) to be active, and he will lead the three-man backfield that includes D'Onta Foreman and Pierre Strong.
