  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Modest numbers against former team

Smith completed 20 of 31 passes for 206 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 26-21 win over the Jets. He also rushed twice for two yards. Smith threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to AJ Barner in the second quarter but finished the first half with just 87 passing yards as the Seahawks took a 21-16 deficit into the locker room despite scoring a defensive touchdown. Seattle came back in the second half thanks to some well-timed penalties on the Jets defense, but Smith didn't produce another score through the air against his former team and finished with his lowest passing yardage total since Week 1. Up next for Smith and the NFC West-leading Seahawks is a pivotal Week 14 road matchup against the Cardinals.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Sleeper QBs

Smith has struggled the past two games against San Francisco and Arizona with fewer than 16 Fantasy points in each outing, but he should rebound this week at the Jets. Five of the past six opposing quarterbacks have scored at least 19.9 Fantasy points, including Kyler Murray and Anthony Richardson, each scoring at least 30.1 points. This is a game where Smith can use his legs since the opposing quarterback against the Jets has run for 59 yards or scored a rushing touchdown in six games in a row. Smith has two rushing touchdowns and three games with at least 30 rushing yards this year.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Does just enough in Sunday's win

Smith completed 22 of 31 passes for 254 yards and a touchdown with an interception in Sunday's 16-6 win over the Cardinals. He added two rushing yards on three carries. A three-yard toss to Jaxon Smith-Njigba late in the second quarter accounted for the only offensive TD of the day by either team on a rainy afternoon in Seattle. Smith continues to have trouble with ball security -- he's thrown at least one pick in four straight games and has a 12:12 TD:INT in 11 contests -- but that's been good enough to get the Seahawks to the top of the NFC West with a 6-5 record. Smith will try to boost his numbers in Week 13 against the Jets.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: QBs to Sit

The Cardinals defense is not an easy matchup for opposing quarterbacks, and Smith is only worth starting in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues in Week 12. The past four opposing quarterbacks against Arizona (Justin Herbert, Tua Tagovailoa, Caleb Williams and Aaron Rodgers) have scored 16.7 Fantasy points or less. And Smith has scored 15.7 Fantasy points or less in three of his past five games, including two of his past three at home.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Hero in upset victory

Smith completed 25 of 32 pass attempts for 221 yards, no touchdowns and one interception while rushing four times for 29 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-17 win over San Francisco. Smith was the hero for the Seahawks when he scrambled untouched for a 16-yard touchdown in the closing seconds of Sunday's upset win. The 34-year-old benefited from the departure of Nick Bosa (hip/oblique) early in the second half, as most of his production came after the 49ers' elite defender left the contest. Smith's lone blemish came on a broken third-down attempt that resulted in a lame duck interception for the defense. The 5-5 Seahawks have made the NFC West a lot tighter ahead of next Sunday's home matchup against the first-place Cardinals.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: QBs to Sit

Smith gets good news coming off his bye with DK Metcalf (knee) hopeful to return from a two-game absence. But the bad news for Smith is he's facing the 49ers, who are No. 11 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks. Four quarterbacks in a row have scored 17.6 Fantasy points or less against San Francisco, including Baker Mayfield, Dak Prescott, Patrick Mahomes and Smith, who had 14.5 points at San Francisco in Week 6. He's now scored 17.3 Fantasy points or less in four games in a row against the 49ers, and I would only start him in Superflex or two-quarterback leagues in Week 11.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Fills box score in OT loss

Smith completed 21 of 34 pass attempts for 363 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions in Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Rams. He also rushed six times for 16 yards. Smith made his most significant fantasy impact on his passing totals. The veteran QB threw for three touchdowns for the first time this season, but he also chucked a trio of interceptions in the overtime loss. Smith is averaging a healthy 284.4 yards per game but has a poor 11:10 TD:INT. Seattle will enter its bye in Week 10, with the team returning to action Nov. 17 against the 49ers.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Fails to score in losing effort

Smith completed 21 of 29 pass attempts for 212 yards, no touchdowns and one interception while rushing five times for 16 yards in Sunday's 31- 10 loss to the Bills. Smith failed to throw a touchdown for the first time in seven starts this season. He was far from the reason the Seahawks lost this contest, but it wasn't the veterans finest stat line either. Despite Seattle's struggles Sunday, Smith remains a reliable mid-range option heading into next Sunday's tilt against the Rams.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Sleeper QBs

DK Metcalf (knee) is not expected to play in Week 8, but Smith is still worth using as a starter in deeper leagues. Smith leads the NFL in passing yards and has scored at least 21.8 Fantasy points in three of his past four games. He's also averaging 39.9 pass attempts a game for the season, so there should be a lot of volume here against the Bills in a potential shootout. I like him less with Metcalf out, but he can still be successful enough -- figure around 18 Fantasy points -- to be useful in deeper leagues.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Pair of scoring passes in win

Smith completed 18 of 28 passes for 207 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Seahawks' 34-14 win over the Falcons on Sunday. He also rushed four times for 15 yards and fumbled once but recovered. Smith put together an efficient game in enemy territory, helping secure a key victory for the Seahawks with a turnover-free performance that also featured his first multi-touchdown tally of the campaign. He connected with DK Metcalf (31 yards) and Kenneth Walker (17 yards) for the pair of scoring tosses, and he recorded completions to seven different players overall. Smith did see Metcalf get carted off with a knee injury in the fourth quarter, however, so it remains to be seen if he'll have his top target available for a Week 8 home showdown against the Bills.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Sets another career high Sunday

Smith completed 28 of 40 pass attempts for 284 yards and a touchdown while adding 72 rushing yards on four attempts in Sunday's 29-20 loss to the Giants. Smith did his usual thing from the pocket Sunday, and he delighted fantasy managers with a rare 72-yard performance as a rusher. That set a new high-water mark in rushing yards in a single game for the veteran quarterback a week after setting a new high in passing yards (395) against the Lions last Sunday. The Seahawks have hit a two-game skid, but Smith has been doing his part with strong numbers heading into Thursday's tilt against San Francisco.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: QBs to Start

Smith has yet to throw multiple touchdowns in a game this season, but he's scored at least 19.8 Fantasy points in three of four outings. And he just had his best game of the season in Week 4 at Detroit with 23.6 Fantasy points. Now, he threw 56 passes in that game, and it would be a surprise if he had that many attempts against the Giants. But Smith has attempted at least 34 passes in three games in a row. The past two quarterbacks against the Giants, Deshaun Watson and Dak Prescott, have scored at least 20.5 Fantasy points, and Smith should also be in that range this week.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Sets career highs on MNF

Smith completed 38 of 56 pass attempts for 395 yards, one touchdown and one interception while rushing five times for 28 yards in Monday's 42-29 loss to the Lions. Smith set career highs in passing attempts, completions and yards in a desperate attempt to keep the Seahawks afloat against a flawless Lions squad on Monday Night Football. The end result was positive for fantasy managers after the veteran QB threw for 300-plus yards for the second time in three weeks. Smith has struggled from a touchdown to turnover standpoint, throwing four of both through four games in 2024. The 3-1 Seahawks will set their sights on the Giants in a home matchup Sunday.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: QBs to Start

Smith has faced the Lions in each of the past two seasons in Detroit, and he's combined for 648 passing yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions, along with 69 rushing yards and a touchdown, in those two outings. I'm expecting another solid performance against the Lions in Week 4, and this should be Smith's best game to date since he's yet to score more than 19.9 Fantasy points. I'm trusting Smith as a low-end starter in all leagues.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Sleeper QBs

Smith is due for a big game after scoring 19.8 and 19.9 Fantasy points in each of his first two matchups against Denver and New England. And it could happen this week against Miami at home. This is the Dolphins' first road game this year, and Miami allowed opposing quarterbacks to average 25.3 Fantasy points on the road in eight games last season. While I'm expecting a big game from Zach Charbonnet as the Start of the Week, Smith should also finish as a low-end starter in all leagues.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: One To Stash (QB Preview)

I don't really want to start Goff in Week 3 in a low-scoring game against the Dolphins, but he's at Detroit in Week 4 and could be a top-12 option if the offense looks as good as it did in Week 2. Smith is completing 73.9% of his passes so far this season despite the fact that his intended air yards per attempt are up 10% over 2023.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Week 2 Waiver Priority List

Smith was good, not great, in Week 1 against Denver with 19.8 Fantasy points, but I'm expecting him to improve moving forward in Seattle's new offense. He might have another mediocre performance in Week 2 at New England, but Smith could emerge as a starter in all leagues as the season goes on. He's worth up to 5 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Sleeper QBs

I'm excited to see Smith in Ryan Grubb's offense, and Smith should do well in Week 1 against the Broncos. Last year, Denver was No. 8 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks, and Smith ended 2023 with at least 21.3 Fantasy points in three of his final four games. The Seahawks are expected to run more plays under Grubb and open up the passing game, and Smith should benefit, starting this week at home.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Adds/Streamers (QB Preview)

Smith is at home, with a good matchup, in his first game with Ryan Grubb as offensive coordinator. We expect Grubb's offense to be a downfield passing attack, and Smith has been very accurate downfield the past two seasons. The Seahawks' 24-point implied total is a plus, and so is the fact that all three of DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba appear to be healthy.

  • Seahawks' Geno Smith: Sharp on one drive Saturday

Smith completed four of five passes for 62 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Seahawks' 37-33 preseason win over the Browns on Saturday night. The veteran signal-caller drew the start, and after throwing incomplete to DK Metcalf on his first pass attempt, he proceeded to briskly march the Seahawks downfield on a 62-yard touchdown drive. Along the way, Smith recorded completions of 25 and seven yards to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, as well as a 21-yard scoring toss to Metcalf, getting some very encouraging tune-up work completed before a Week 1 home showdown against the Broncos on Sept. 8. Smith will be operating in a new offense this season, but his core of skill players has full continuity, upping his chances of success.
