Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Won't play Monday
Stewart (knee) is out for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals Monday against the Knicks, Stefan Bondy of The New York Post reports.
After leaving Game 1 of the first round of the playoffs Saturday, Stewart won't be able to suit up for the Pistons on Monday. He'll aim to return Thursday when the series heads to Detroit for Game 3. Paul Reed could enter Detroit's rotation as the backup center, and Ronald Holland may see a boost in frontcourt minutes off the bench in small-ball lineups. Jalen Duren could also see heavy playing time Monday.

Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Questionable for Monday
Stewart (knee) has been listed as questionable for Monday's Eastern Conference Game 2 quarterfinal-round matchup against the Knicks.
Stewart left Game 1 in New York due to a right knee issue, which is now jeopardizing his playing status for Game 2. The veteran big man played 19 minutes in the Game 1 loss to the Knicks on Saturday, finishing with five rebounds, two points, two blocks and an assist. If he's unable to play on Monday, Detroit will likely turn to Paul Reed to help shoulder the load off the bench in the frontcourt.

Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Status uncertain for Game 2
Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff expressed uncertainty about Stewart's availability going forward in the first-round playoff series with the Knicks after the center exited Saturday's 123-112 loss in Game 1 due to an apparent knee injury, John Nido of The Detroit News reports. Stewart finished with two points (1-2 FG), five rebounds, two blocks and one assist in 19 minutes.
Stewart missed the Pistons' final two games of the regular season due to right knee inflammation, but he was cleared in advance of the playoff opener. He assumed his usual duties as the top backup to Jalen Duren, but Stewart was forced out of the game with 9:06 remaining in the fourth quarter and was unable to return. The Pistons never provided an official diagnosis of Stewart's injury when he checked out of the game, so it's unclear if he's dealing with an aggravation of the prior right knee issue, or if the injury is even to the same knee. More clarity on Stewart's situation should come when the Pistons release their next injury report Sunday in advance of Monday's Game 2 matchup in New York. If Stewart is forced to miss time, the Pistons could lean more heavily on Duren while opening up a spot in the rotation for Paul Reed as the backup center, or perhaps make more use of small-ball lineups when Duren is off the court.

Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Leaves Game 1 early
Stewart checked out of Saturday's Game 1 matchup with the Knicks with 9:06 remaining in the fourth quarter and headed to the locker room due to an apparent knee injury, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Stewart was cleared to play in Game 1 after missing the final two games of the regular season due to right knee inflammation. Despite being cleared to play, Stewart looked to be in discomfort at various points during Saturday's contest, and he played just 48-second shift in the fourth quarter before asking out of the game after drawing a foul. The Pistons should provide an update on Stewart's status after the game, but if he's unable to return, starter Jalen Duren could take on the rest of the center minutes for the remainder of the contest.

It was just his fourth time starting this season, and he certainly made the most of his opportunity. He matched his season high with 16 points while bringing his usual tenacity on the defensive end.
