  • Twins' Carlos Correa: Expected back Friday

The Twins are expected to activate Correa from the 7-day concussion injured Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

There was no corresponding move announced with Ryan Fitzgerald's demotion to Triple-A St. Paul, pointing to Correa being ready to roll on the first day he's eligible to be activated. He's missed the past week of action after experiencing concussion symptoms as a result of a collision with teammate Byron Buxton, but Correa's symptoms have dissipated and he will skip a rehab assignment and go directly back onto the Twins' active roster.

  • Twins' Ryan Fitzgerald: Heads back to Triple-A

The Twins optioned Fitzgerald to Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

The Twins haven't yet announced a corresponding move, which could point to Carlos Correa (concussion) returning from the 7-day injured list when first eligible Friday. Fitzgerald went hitless in three plate appearances this week in his first stint in the big leagues.

  • Twins' Mickey Gasper: Returned to Triple-A

The Twins optioned Gasper to Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday.

Gasper was up for one day as the 27th man during Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Guardians, and he did not make an appearance. The utility player has slashed only .176/.282/.206 during his time in the majors this season.

  • Twins' Joe Ryan: No-decision in suspended game

Ryan didn't factor in the decision in Monday's suspended game against the Guardians after giving up three runs on three hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out four.

The contest resumed ahead of Wednesday's regularly scheduled contest, which Ryan was originally positioned to start. The right-hander instead took the mound for the fourth inning of the suspended game with a 2-1 lead, and he nearly went the distance before allowing the first two batters to reach in the ninth inning. Closer Jhoan Duran was unable to strand the runners and blew the save, leaving Ryan with a no-decision. It wasn't a bad showing from Ryan, though it still ended a dominant four-start stretch that saw him allow just two runs with a 35:3 K:BB over 25 innings. The 28-year-old lines up to take the mound on the road against the Rays early next week.

  • Twins' Jhoan Duran: Blows save, gets win in suspended game

Duran (2-0) got the win after blowing the save in Monday's suspended game against the Guardians. He allowed a run on two hits and no walks while striking out one in the ninth inning.

The two teams finished up the suspended contest prior to Wednesday's regularly scheduled game, and the Minnesota closer was called upon to protect a three-run advantage in the ninth inning after Joe Ryan allowed the first two batters to reach. Duran was unable to maintain the lead but still got the win since the Kody Clemens delivered a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the frame. It's the first blown save of the year in nine chances for Duran, who entered the contest having not given up an earned run in his previous 11 appearances. He's been dominant early in 2025 with a 1.21 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 26:9 K:BB across 26 innings and remains locked in as the Twins' closer.

  • Twins' Chris Paddack: Decent showing in loss

Paddack (2-4) took the loss Wednesday against Cleveland, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks across 5.1 innings. He struck out two.

Paddack tied his season high in hits allowed -- yielding more than five hits for the first time since April 6 -- but he extended his streak of starts allowing three or fewer earned runs to nine. The 29-year-old has a 3.98 ERA and a 35:19 K:BB in 52 innings of work this season. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Rays early next week.

  • Twins' Ty France: Out of Minnesota lineup

France is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Guardians.

France participated in the conclusion of a suspended game earlier in the day, but he'll begin Wednesday's regularly scheduled tilt on the bench. Jonah Bride will handle first base and bat fifth for the Twins.

  • Twins' Trevor Larnach: Grabbing seat Wednesday

Larnach is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Larnach played in the conclusion of a suspended game earlier Wednesday, but he will be on the bench at the beginning of the regularly scheduled contest. Ryan Jeffers is in the designated hitter spot and batting leadoff for the Twins.

  • Twins' Mickey Gasper: Called up as 27th man

The Twins recalled Gasper from Triple-A St. Paul to serve as the 27th man for Wednesday's doubleheader with the Guardians, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Gasper wasn't available for the resumption of Monday's suspended game earlier in the day, but he'll join the Twins for Wednesday's regularly scheduled contest before likely heading back to Triple-A. The utility infielder has logged 39 plate appearances with the Twins on the season and has slashed .176/.282/.206 with no home runs or stolen bases.

  • Twins' Byron Buxton: Still experiencing symptoms

Twins athletic trainer Nick Paparesta said Wednesday that Buxton is considered further behind in his recovery than Carlos Correa as both players recover from concussions, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Buxton and Correa were placed on the 7-day injured list after the two were involved in an on-field collision in a May 15 game. The Twins haven't offered up a timeline for either player's return from the IL, but Correa is apparently trending toward being activated sooner than Buxton.

  • Twins' Carlos Correa: Recovery coming along

Twins head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta said Wednesday that Correa's concussion symptoms are improving, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Both Correa and Byron Buxton landed on the 7-day concussion injured list after the two were involved in an on-field collision May 15. Correa is farther along of the two in his recovery, although the Twins haven't offered up a timetable for his return. He is eligible for activation Friday.

  • Twins' Payton Eeles: Begins rehab assisgnment

Eeles (knee) is 4-for-12 with two walks in four games for Single-A Fort Meyers during a rehab assignment.

Eeles began the season on the Triple-A injured list after undergoing offseason surgery to address a cartilage issue. It looks like he could be activated from the injured list and join Triple-A St. Paul soon.

  • Twins' Joe Ryan: Will pitch in suspended game

Ryan will pitch Wednesday for the resumption of Monday's suspended game against the Guardians, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander was penciled in to start Wednesday's series finale for Minnesota, but he'll instead take the mound for the suspended contest after Tuesday's game was also postponed. The Twin's held a 2-1 lead after three innings when the game was pushed Monday, so Ryan will have a strong opportunity to secure his fourth win in five starts. After the completion of the suspended game, Chris Paddack will start Wednesday's regularly scheduled contest for the Twins.

  • Twins' Chris Paddack: Tuesday's game postponed

Paddack won't start as scheduled Tuesday against the Guardians since the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Mother Nature has wreaked havoc on this series, as Monday's contest was suspended after three innings and was set to resume prior to Tuesday's regularly scheduled game. The suspended contest is now set to resume Wednesday ahead of the second game of the series, and the other game is scheduled to be made up as part of a doubleheader Sept. 20. Paddack is likely to pitch in one of Wednesday's contests, with the suspended game being advantageous since the Twins hold a 2-1 lead.

  • Twins' Bailey Ober: Start halted by rain

Ober allowed one run on three hits and no walks while striking out three batters over three innings Monday versus Cleveland in a game that was suspended until Tuesday due to inclement weather.

Ober gave up a run in the first inning but held a 2-1 lead before the contest was suspended. The right-hander threw 42 pitches (an efficient 35 of which were strikes) and will have to settle for a no-decision given the short outing. It's a disappointing outcome for fantasy managers who roster Ober, but the hurler should at least be well-rested by the time his next turn in the rotation comes up, which lines up to be this weekend versus Kansas City.
