  • Orioles' Kyle Bradish: Expects to have workload limits

Bradish said Sunday that he expects to have some form of innings limit or workload restrictions in 2026, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Bradish noted that he trained this offseason with the goal of pitching a full season, but he anticipates the Orioles will have some kind of workload limits in place in his first full season back from Tommy John surgery. What exactly that will look like isn't clear, but it's unlikely Bradish will be completely shut down at any point. The righty was excellent down the stretch last season for the Orioles after completing his rehab, posting a 2.53 ERA and 47:10 K:BB over 32 innings covering six starts.

  • Orioles' Albert Suarez: Healthy for spring training

Suarez (forearm) said Monday that he's fully healthy this spring, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

A mild forearm flexor strain brought Suarez's 2025 campaign to an early end, but the 36-year-old right-hander believes he's "100 percent" and "good to go" ahead of spring training. Suarez is with the Orioles on a minor-league contract leading into Grapefruit League action, and he'd likely be left with a bullpen role as a long reliever if he winds up claiming an Opening Day roster spot.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Getting cast off Monday

Holliday will have the cast on his surgically repaired right hand removed Monday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Holliday underwent surgery last week to have the fractured right hamate bone removed from his hand. He's able to field grounders (but not throw) and run in Orioles camp and is aiming to take live at-bats in three weeks. Holliday will begin the season on the injured list, but the goal is for it to be a brief stint.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Back at camp Sunday

Henderson (personal) rejoined the Orioles at camp Sunday and was spotted participating in infield work, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Henderson missed three days of workouts while attending to a personal matter, but the brief absence shouldn't affect his readiness for the start of the season. The 24-year-old shortstop is scheduled to leave camp again later this month to join Team USA for the World Baseball Classic.

  • Orioles' Felix Bautista: No rush to pitch in 2026

The Orioles aren't going to push Bautista (shoulder) to pitch in 2026, per MLB.com.

The hard-throwing right-hander is progressing well from right shoulder surgery in August of 2025 to repair a torn rotator cuff and torn labrum, but Baltimore has no intentions to rush Bautista back into the fray. His throwing progression will be worth monitoring, but the expectation remains that Bautista won't be much of a fantasy factor in 2026, if at all. Ryan Helsley signed a two-year contract with the O's in November and is all set to start the new season with a big opportunity to bounce back as the club's top closer, after limping to a 7.20 ERA through 20 regular-season innings with the Mets to finish last year.

  • Orioles' Colin Selby: Beginning season on IL

The Orioles placed Selby on the 60-day injured list Saturday due to right shoulder inflammation, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Selby's move to the 60-day IL will ensure he remains sidelined until at least late May and opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for Jackson Kowar, who was acquired in a trade with the Twins on Saturday. Selby isn't reportedly dealing with any structural damage, which increases the likelihood that he could return to the Orioles' bullpen after a minimum-length IL stint.

  • Orioles' Jackson Kowar: Shipped to Baltimore

The Twins traded Kowar (shoulder) to the Orioles on Saturday in exchange for cash.

The Twins DFA'd Kowar on Thursday to make room for Anthony Banda, and the former will now find a home on Baltimore's 40-man roster. The 29-year-old righty finished 2025 with a 4.23 ERA and 1.24 WHIP across 17 innings with the Mariners and will have to break camp with the O's in order to keep his spot on the 40-man roster. Colin Selby (shoulder) was placed on the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Away due to personal matter

Henderson has left Orioles camp Thursday due to a personal matter, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Henderson is expected back Sunday, so the brief absence shouldn't greatly affect his preparation for the season. The young shortstop is looking to bounce back at the plate in 2026 after a nagging shoulder issue contributed to his home-run total dropping from 37 to 17 season over season.

  • Orioles' Chris Bassitt: Lands in Baltimore

Bassitt signed a one-year, $18.5 million contract with the Orioles on Wednesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Bassitt finished the 2025 regular season with a 3.96 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across 170.1 innings, and he'll now head to Baltimore to help bolster an Orioles rotation that finished the year with a 4.65 ERA (seventh worst in MLB). The 36-year-old righty has made at least 30 starts every year since 2022 and posted an 8.8 K/9 last season while ranking in the 85th percentile in average exit velocity allowed.

  • Orioles' Zach Eflin: Full participant for camp

Orioles president of baseball operations Mike Elias said Wednesday that Eflin (back) will be a full participant as spring training gets underway, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Eflin missed the final two months of 2025 due to a back injury that he addressed with lumbar microdiscectomy surgery Aug. 18, but he was cleared to resume throwing off a mound in early January. Baltimore re-signed the veteran righty on a one-year, $10 million deal in October, so Eflin should be ticketed for a back-end rotation spot.

  • Orioles' Colin Selby: Shelved by shoulder inflammation

Orioles president of baseball operations Mike Elias said Wednesday that Selby is expected to begin the season on the injured list due to right shoulder inflammation, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

He's not dealing with any structural damage, but Selby will be sidelined indefinitely as the Orioles allow the inflammation in his shoulder to subside. Selby yielded five runs with a 14:2 K:BB over 14 frames with Baltimore in 2025 and, once healthy, is slated for a middle relief role.

  • Orioles' Chayce McDermott: Staying in bullpen

Orioles president of baseball operations Mike Elias confirmed Wednesday that McDermott (back) will prepare in spring training to handle a relief role during the 2026 season, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

McDermott made a spot start for the Orioles in his 2024 big-league debut, but after battling a shoulder injury to close out that season and then a lat strain to begin the 2025 campaign, he struggled to find his form. The right-hander then sustained a minor elbow issue in July and ended up shifting to a relief role over the final two months of the season between the majors and Triple-A Norfolk. McDermott was placed on the injured list Sept. 23 due to back discomfort, but he appears to have had a healthy offseason. With the Orioles' starting candidates in generally good health entering 2026, McDermott isn't needed as rotation depth will have to make his mark out of the bullpen during the spring in order to secure a spot on the Opening Day roster.

  • Orioles' Coby Mayo: Could get reps at third early on

Mayo has been working out at third base early in Orioles camp and could see playing time at the position if Jordan Westburg (oblique) shifts to second base to cover for Jackson Holliday's (hand) expected absence to begin the season, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Mayo didn't see any action at third base with the big club from June on last season, focusing on first base and designated hitter instead. However, with Holliday slated to begin the season on the injured list and with offseason pickup Pete Alonso locked in as the Orioles' everyday first baseman, Mayo is being reconsidered as an option at the hot corner. The likelier scenario seems to be Blaze Alexander picking up Holliday's reps, but Mayo could change minds with a strong Grapefruit League showing.

  • Orioles' Tyler Wells: Gearing up for starting role

Orioles president of baseball operations Mike Elias said Wednesday that Wells will be built up as a starting pitcher during spring training, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

According to Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun, Elias said that the Orioles haven't made a firm determination what role Wells will handle over the long haul, but at least to begin camp, the 31-year-old righty will be in the mix for a rotation spot. After completing his recovery from June 2024 UCL revision and internal brace augmentation surgery on his elbow, Wells was activated from the injured list last September and pitched well over the final month of the season, logging a 2.91 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 18:2 K:BB in 21.2 innings over his four starts.

  • Orioles' Blaze Alexander: Could fill in for Holliday

Orioles president of baseball operations Mike Elias said Wednesday that Alexander is a candidate to start at second base while Jackson Holliday (hand) is out, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

The Orioles acquired Alexander via trade Feb. 5, and the next day Holliday suffered a hamate bone fracture that will result in a stint on the injured list to begin the season. Alexander slashed .230/.323/.383 with seven homers and four steals over 74 games for the Diamondbacks in 2025. Jordan Westburg (oblique) will also be in the mix for reps at second base while Holliday is shelved.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: On mend from oblique strain

Westburg could miss the first few Grapefruit League games after suffering a strained right oblique in late January, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Oblique injuries have a tendency to linger, so the Orioles will proceed cautiously with the infielder so he doesn't suffer a setback. Westburg is projected to be the team's everyday third baseman this season, though he could fill in at second base while Jackson Holliday (hand) is sidelined to begin the campaign.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Missing opener after hamate surgery

Holliday will undergo surgery Thursday for a fractured right hamate bone and will begin the season on the injured list, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

A clearer timetable should become available after the operation, but Holliday will shelved for several weeks in any case. Additionally, it's a procedure that can often result in an initial loss of power for a player upon their return. Blaze Alexander and Jordan Westburg (oblique) are candidates to handle second base while Holliday is out.
