Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Stays hot with three RBI
Langford batted leadoff for the first time this season and went 1-for-4 with a three-run double and a walk in Tuesday's win over the Athletics.
The Rangers had a pair of three-run doubles, one by Langford and another by Adolis Garcia, during their eight-run onslaught in the sixth inning. Langford has now logged at least one hit in eight of his last nine outings, during which he's batting a scorching .429 (15-for-35) with three home runs, five doubles, seven RBI and two stolen bases. The 2023 No. 4 overall pick has been a five-category fantasy contributor to begin 2025, and his run-scoring upside gets a boost while he's operating as the leadoff hitter.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Receiving Sunday off
Langford is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.
The 23-year-old started the past six games after recovering from an oblique injury, and he'll receive a day off after going 12-for-23 with three doubles and two homers during that span. Dustin Harris will pick up a start in left field and bat eighth in Sunday's series finale.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Three more hits in Friday's win
Langford went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in Friday's 2-0 win over the Giants.
The Rangers managed just seven hits in total on the night, and Langford was the only Texas hitter who had little trouble solving Justin Verlander, with both his two-baggers coming off the future Hall of Famer. The three-hit performance was Langford's third in five games since returning from an oblique strain, and the surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .350/.429/.700 with six homers, four steals, eight runs and nine RBI in 70 plate appearances.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Ascends to second in order
Langford batted second and went 3-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Athletics.
Langford was moved up to second in the batting among a slew of lineup and batting order tweaks enacted by manager Bruce Bochy, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. The other major changes involved Josh Smith moving to leadoff and Marcus Semien dropping from leadoff to fifth. Obviously, moving up to second gives Langford more plate appearances, which is a good thing for fantasy managers and an offense that's been struggling (27th in runs). Langford has a 1.011 OPS with five home runs through 14 games played.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Swipes bag in return
Langford went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.
Returning from the IL due to an oblique injury, Langford worked a walk to lead off the second inning and stole a base in the frame. He was also called out in an attempted steal to end the game. Langford now has three steals in 13 games and was showing some early pop before his injury with four homers.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Activated, added to lineup
Langford (oblique) was activated from the injured list Sunday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Langford said Saturday that he expected to be activated Sunday, and that has indeed come to pass following a final evaluation in the morning. He was originally left out of Texas' lineup, but he's now slated to start in left field and bat fifth. In a corresponding move, Ezequiel Duran was sent down to Triple-A.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Expects to be activated Sunday
Langford (oblique) told reporters Saturday that he believes he'll be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Sunday's game against the Dodgers, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Langford was in the Rangers' clubhouse after appearing in two games with Triple-A Round Rock for his rehab assignment, going 2-for-6 with two walks and a solo home run. His return will shake up the Rangers' lineup, with Jake Burger or Joc Pederson potentially being demoted in their respective roles. Before landing on the 10-day IL with a right oblique strain, Langford slashed .244/.333/.561 with five walks, two stolen bases, six runs scored, four home runs and six RBI.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Expected back this weekend
Langford (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Langford will play with Round Rock on Thursday and Friday and, barring a setback, will be activated from the 10-day injured list this weekend, likely on Saturday when he's first eligible. The young outfielder has been shelved since earlier April due to a right oblique strain.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Swinging bat Tuesday
Langford (oblique) will swing a bat Tuesday for the first time since being placed on the 10-day injured list last week, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Langford noted that he feels "pretty much fine," although he hadn't really tested his right oblique out prior to Tuesday. The young outfielder is one week away from being eligible for activation from the IL, but it's too soon to know whether he'll be ready to go on that date.
