Servais did note that since swinging a bat isn't really an issue for Rodriguez, he could be utilized as a designated hitter when activated from the IL, with defensive duties on hold until his ankle is 100 percent. Rodriguez was diagnosed with a right high-ankle sprain after suffering the injury while leaping into the outfield wall in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Astros.
