Red Sox's Alex Bregman: Planned playing time revealed
Boston manager Alex Cora said Bregman will play four of the six games on the team's current road trip, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Bregman was activated off the injured list last week and played two of three games prior to the All-Star break. He started the first game back from the break Friday and will start again Saturday before getting Sunday off. The manager said Bregman will start Monday and Tuesday in Philadelphia before getting Wednesday off.

Bregman went 1-for-4 in Friday's 5-4 win over Tampa Bay.
Bregman was activated from the injured list Friday after missing 43 games due to a quadriceps injury. He had batted third prior to the injury but was moved to second in the order Friday. Bregman returned to a team that traded Rafael Devers, promoted top prospect Roman Anthony and welcomed back veteran Masataka Yoshida off the injured list, so the spots in the upper third of the batting order could fluctuate.

The Red Sox reinstated Bregman (quadriceps) from the 10-day injured list Friday, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.
The veteran third baseman will join the Red Sox to face the Rays this weekend for the final series before the All-Star break. Bregman missed seven weeks due to a quadriceps strain but is back without having gone on a rehab assignment, and he's expected to start two of Boston's final three games of the first half. He's at third base and batting second Friday.

Cora added that Bregman will be in the lineup for two of the final three games of a four-game set against the Rays, although the skipper didn't specify which games it would be. Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Monday that Bregman (quadriceps) is "feeling great" and will have his status reassessed this weekend, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
The reassessment had been scheduled to take place at the six-week mark of Bregman's absence from a right quad strain. Cora indicated last week that Bregman would likely be sidelined through the All-Star break. Bregman has already missed a month with a right quad strain. While he has progressed in a running program, he has not yet resumed baseball activities. Bregman and the Red Sox have expressed hope that he could skip a rehab assignment, but given that his absence is now expected to extend to the second half, some rehab games seem likely.
