Dodgers' Blake Snell: Works two innings in rehab start
Snell (shoulder) completed two shutout innings while allowing one hit and striking out four in a rehab start with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Thursday.
In his first rehab outing as he works his way back from shoulder inflammation, Snell threw 31 pitches (23 strikes). The expectation is that he will require three or four total outings in the minors prior to being activated from the 60-day injured list, so the left-hander appears on track for a return in late July or early August.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Cleared for rehab start Thursday
Snell (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Thursday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Snell resumed facing hitters last week and is set to pitch in a game Thursday for the first time since he went down with left shoulder inflammation in early April. The southpaw is expected to throw two innings for Rancho Cucamonga and will continue to build up from there while moving on to higher-level affiliates as he eyes a return to the Los Angeles rotation. His return could happen before the end of July if all goes well.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Rehab assignment begins next week
Snell (shoulder) will throw two innings in a rehab game next week and could return to the big-league rotation in late July, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Tyler Glasnow (shoulder) is set to return next week from a similar injury after needing three rehab starts, so Snell could return in late July or early August, depending on how his shoulder responds. Snell will not travel on the Dodgers' upcoming road trip but will throw a bullpen session Monday before heading out on a rehab assignment.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Nearing rehab assignment
Snell (shoulder) is slated to throw to hitters Saturday, and his following step could be a minor-league rehab assignment, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.
Snell first threw to live hitters Wednesday and is slated to pitch two simulated innings Saturday. Though that doesn't represent much of a ramp-up, manager Dave Roberts indicated Friday that the left-handed hurler could head out on a rehab stint if he doesn't experience any setbacks in the upcoming throwing session. Snell's last game action took place April 2, so he will probably need several rehab starts before he's ready to be activated from the injured list.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Set to face hitters
Snell (shoulder) is expected to face live hitters Wednesday, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.
Snell will officially face live batters for the first time since April, when he was placed on the injured list with left shoulder inflammation. Manager Dave Roberts said the left-hander was "not close" to facing hitters when asked about Snell's status last Friday, so it appears as if the southpaw is further along in his recovery process than his skipper anticipated. The Dodgers have no reason to rush Snell back to the mound, but if all goes well Wednesday, he could begin a minor-league rehab assignment in the coming weeks.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Not yet facing hitters
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said earlier this week that Snell (shoulder) is "probably not" close to facing hitters, MLB.com reports.
Snell took a step forward recently when he began using his full pitch mix during bullpen sessions, but Roberts' comments suggest the lefty hurler is still far away from being activated from the injured list. Snell has pitched in just two games for the Dodgers this season, with his last outing before landing on the IL coming all the way back on April 2. The veteran starter will presumably need to make multiple minor-league rehab appearances before he's ready to return to the big club, so it seems unlikely that he'll be ready to rejoin the Los Angeles rotation until after the All-Star break.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Throws another side session
Snell (shoulder) threw approximately 20 to 25 pitches in a bullpen session Friday, MLB.com reports.
After getting back on the mound and tossing 15 pitches in San Diego on Tuesday, Snell increased the volume and intensity of his throwing in his second bullpen session since he landed on the injured list April 6. The southpaw was limited to throwing fastballs in Friday's workout, so he'll have to incorporate his full arsenal in future bullpen sessions before he advances to facing hitters in live batting practice. Snell still has a chance to return from the 60-day injured list before the All-Star break, though he may need to head out on a rehab assignment within the next two weeks to make it a reality.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Bullpen session on tap
Snell (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Snell made about 10 throws off a mound over the weekend to a standing catcher, per Plunkett, and he's now ready to take the next step in his throwing progression by completing what the Dodgers are terming as a "touch-and-feel" bullpen session. The lefty hasn't tossed from a mound since experiencing a setback in late April, so he'll likely need to make it through at least a few side sessions before facing live hitters.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Could throw off mound next week
Snell (shoulder) could resume throwing off a mound early next week in San Diego, Dodgersbeat reports.
Snell hasn't thrown from the bump since he experienced a setback with his left shoulder in late April, but he's made enough recent strides with his flat-ground work that he's almost ready to try things from a mound again. A timetable for Snell's return to the Dodgers' rotation could become clearer in the coming weeks if he's able to throw off a mound without any hiccups.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Moved to 60-day IL
The Dodgers transferred Snell (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.
Snell's move to the 60-day IL makes him ineligible to return until June 5, though he just began playing catch Wednesday and isn't expected to return for another several weeks anyway. While he continues working his way back, the Dodgers will give his spot on the 40-man roster to Clayton Kershaw (toe/knee), who was activated to start Saturday's game against the Angels.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Begins throwing program
Snell (shoulder) played catch from 60 feet out Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports
Some shoulder discomfort prevented Snell from beginning his throwing program over the weekend as originally planned, but he now has the green light from a doctor to begin playing catch. A better idea of when the 32-year-old will return to the mound for Los Angeles might emerge as he progresses further in his rehab, but he seems to be at least several weeks away.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Not yet throwing
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Snell is still dealing with some discomfort in his left shoulder and wasn't able to resume playing catch Sunday as planned, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.
Snell appears to be stuck in a holding pattern in his recovery from left shoulder inflammation, which has kept him on the injured list since April 6. He had been able to resume throwing bullpen sessions less than two weeks after being shelved with the injury, but he experienced a setback in late April and received an injection in his shoulder to aid in his recovery. The injection doesn't appear to have resolved Snell's shoulder discomfort as quickly as anticipated, and the lefty is now set to meet with Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Monday before the Dodgers determine his next steps. Even if he receives a positive evaluation from Dr. ElAttrache, Snell would still seem to be multiple weeks away from returning from the IL.
