  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Goes deep Sunday

Soler went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to Houston.

All three of the Angels' runs in the contest came on solo homers, and Soler contributed with a blast to left field in the sixth inning. It was the fourth long ball of the season for the veteran outfielder, all of which have come in his past eight games. Soler has reached base safely in 10 straight contests and is slashing .270/.349/.622 with seven RBI during that stretch, though he also has a 30.2 percent strikeout rate in that span.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Smacks third homer

Soler went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to Tampa Bay.

Soler was able to reduce the Angels' deficit to one run when he took Ryan Pepiot deep for a 356-foot solo homer to right field in the fifth frame. Soler has belted a home run in three of his last four outings and is on a six-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 6-for-22 with one walk, four runs scored, three home runs and five RBI.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Beginning to heat up

Soler went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Sunday's 6-2 win against Cleveland.

Soler played a key part in the Angels' win, giving the team a 3-2 lead with a solo shot to left field in the sixth inning and tacking on a run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh. The veteran slugger has gone deep in each of his past two games and is working on a modest four-game hitting streak. Soler has logged exactly one hit in each contest during the streak, but it's a step up from his slow start to the season -- he went just 3-for-17 over his first five games.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Swats first homer

Soler went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run Saturday in a 10-4 win over Cleveland.

The Angels tagged Guardians ace Tanner Bibee for four homers in the victory, with Soler's first-inning, two-run shot coming as the second of the bunch. It was the first long ball of the season for the veteran slugger, who entered Saturday with just one RBI through seven games. Soler promisingly didn't strike out Saturday after fanning at a 41.7 percent clip over his first 29 plate appearances.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Supplying power this spring

Soler went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's Cactus League win over the Rockies.

Soler tied the game in the sixth inning with a solo blast to left-center field. It was the veteran slugger's third long ball this spring, and he's slashing .385/.484/.769 with seven RBI. Soler is locked into a role as the Angels' primary DH for the coming campaign and could have plenty of run-producing opportunities behind Mike Trout in the batting order.

  • Angels' Jorge Soler: Expected to bat near top of lineup

Angels manager Ron Washington said Friday that he expects Soler, Mike Trout and Taylor Ward to be the top three batters in the lineup, though not necessarily in that order, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Soler is no stranger to the top of the lineup, as he was primarily slotted in the first third of the order -- including 41 times he batted leadoff -- during his stints with San Francisco and Atlanta last season. Though he batted just .241 overall, the veteran slugger reached base at a .338 clip with the help of a career-best 12.1 percent walk rate. It's not yet clear the exact spot Soler will occupy in the Angels' lineup, and Washington added that it's possible one of the three players he mentioned could instead hit cleanup, but Soler could benefit in terms of run-scoring or run-producing opportunities with a place near Trout if the latter can remain healthy.
