Ka'imi Fairbairn K | HOU
Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Clears up cap space
Fairbairn agreed to terms Monday on a contract restructure with the Texans for the purpose of freeing up salary cap space, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Fairbairn's restructure converts part of his $4.73 million base salary into a $3.46 million signing bonus while adding multiple void years to the end of his deal. He still remains under contract through 2026 after having inked a a three-year extension last offseason. The 31-year-old converted 36 of 42 field-goal attempts and 34 of 36 extra-point tries across 17 regular-season appearances in 2024, though he struggled in Houston's divisional-round playoff loss to Kansas City. He remains positioned as the Texans' starting kicker.

Tyler Loop K | BAL
Ravens' Tyler Loop: Impresses coach at minicamp
Coach John Harbaugh was impressed by what he saw of Loop during the Ravens' rookie minicamp, Clifton Brown of the team's official site reports.
"It was good to see it. It was good to hear it," Harbaugh noted of rookie sixth-rounder's kicking during the minicamp. "I think as much as anything, it's good to hear a kicker, and the way the ball comes off his foot is impressive." Following the release of Justin Tucker on Monday, Loop -- who was first kicker drafted in the Ravens' 30-year history, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN -- appears poised to assume the team's placekicking duties, though look for depth at the position to be added, with Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic noting that Baltimore is expected to sign UDFA John Hoyland (Wyoming).

Justin Tucker K | BAL
Justin Tucker: Released by Ravens
The Ravens have released Tucker.
Per Kevin Patra of NFL.com, Tucker -- who had been with the Ravens since 2012 -- remains under league investigation for potential improper conduct, and the team now has elected to part ways with the veteran kicker, who converted 22 of his 30 field-goal attempts over 17 regular-season games in 2024. Tyler Loop, who was selected in the sixth round of last month's draft, thus appears to be in line to handle Baltimore's kicking duties this coming season, though it's possible the team could add some depth at the position ahead of training camp.

Ravens' Justin Tucker: Working out, but status uncertain
Tucker has been working out at Baltimore's training facility, and the Ravens are currently approaching the competition between him and rookie Tyler Loop "purely on football," Giana Han of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Tucker uncharacteristically struggled last year, converting just 22 of 30 field-goal attempts over 17 regular-season games. He's also currently under investigation by the NFL due to off-field allegations. The Ravens selected Loop in the sixth round of April's draft, suggesting that Tucker's role with the team is hazy considering the league's investigation and his unsatisfactory kicking last year.

Zane Gonzalez K | WAS
Zane Gonzalez: Let go by Washington
The Commanders are releasing Gonzalez on Tuesday after having signed Matt Gay, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.
Gonzalez performed admirably for Washington after Austin Seibert (groin) was lost to injury in Week 12 last year, suiting up for six regular-season games and three postseason contests. In that span he converted 12 of his 15 field-goal attempts and all 27 of his extra-point tries. Gonzalez, who will turn 30 in early May, likely won't need long to catch on with a new team.

Matt Gay K | WAS
Commanders' Matt Gay: New kicker for Commanders
Gay signed a one-year, $4.25 million contract with Washington on Tuesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Gay's deal is fully guaranteed and reportedly coincides with the release of veteran incumbent Zane Gonzalez. Across 16 regular-season appearances with Indianapolis in 2024, Gay converted 31 of 37 field-goal attempts (84 percent), with all six of his misses coming from 50-plus yards out. He also converted all 33 of his extra-point tries.

Steelers' Ben Sauls: Signing with Steelers
Sauls is signing with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent, Burt Lauten of the team's official site reports.
Sauls is slated to stay in Pittsburgh where he spent the entirety of his collegiate career with the University of Pittsburgh Panthers. With Chris Boswell entrenched as the Pittsburgh's starting kicker, Sauls could be an option for the team's practice squad.

John Parker Romo K | NE
Patriots' John Parker Romo: Joined by rookie in kicker room
Romo will face competition from rookie sixth-round pick Andres Borregales during training camp and the preseason, Karen Guregian of MassLive.com reports.
Any time a team uses a draft pick on a kicker, the draftee typically becomes the favorite to win the job out of training camp. Romo played four games with the Vikings last year and hit 11 of 12 field goals, including five of six tries from beyond 40 yards. However, Borregales was automatic in college and showed range with multiple boots from beyond 50 yards.

Tyler Loop K | BAL
Ravens' Tyler Loop: Selected by Baltimore
The Ravens selected Loop in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 186th overall.
Loop spent his collegiate career at Arizona and regularly showcased his leg strength, making eight of 13 kicks from beyond 50 yards in the last two seasons. He also excelled on kickoffs, delivering 53 touchbacks on 56 opportunities. The pick could indicate some concern about long-time kicker Justin Tucker, who has struggled on longer field goals in recent seasons and also faces off-field uncertainty.

Andres Borregales K | NE
Patriots' Andres Borregales: First kicker goes to Patriots
The Patriots selected Borregales in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 182nd overall.
Borregales is the first kicker taken in this draft, and he's the second kicker that the Patriots have drafted in three seasons, as they previously selected Chad Ryland -- who is now with the Cardinals -- in 2023. Borregales, a four-year starter, was automatic at Miami as a senior, hitting 18 of 19 field goals, including seven of eight tries from beyond 40 yards. His longest field goal was 56 yards. Borregales will compete with John Parker Romo -- who connected on 11 of 12 field-goal tries last season -- for the starting gig in New England.
