  • Rockets' Alperen Sengun: Chips in 26 points Saturday

Sengun closed Saturday's 135-131 victory over the Cavaliers with 26 points (9-17 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 7-13 FT), eight rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes.

Sengun co-led the Rockets in scoring Saturday with Jalen Green. Sengun was efficient as usual from the field, but he struggled from the charity stripe where he has connected on just 54.5 percent of his free-throw attempts across his last eight outings. Over that span, Sengun has averaged 21.0 points on 52.9 percent shooting, 10.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.4 steals over 31.1 minutes per game.

  • Amen Thompson PG | HOU

Rockets' Amen Thompson: Logs triple-double against Cavs

Thompson racked up 23 points (8-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 7-10 FT), 14 rebounds, 10 assists, two blocks and one steal across 41 minutes during Saturday's 135-131 victory over Cleveland.

Thompson was the Rockets' best player on the court Saturday, leading the team with a plus-10 point differential en route to his second-career triple-double. Houston holds an 8-2 record since Thompson was permanently inserted into the starting lineup Jan. 5, which includes back-to-back wins against Cleveland. Over that span, Thompson has averaged 16.4 points on 55.3 percent shooting, 11.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.1 blocks over 38.4 minutes per game.

  • Paul Reed C | DET

Pistons' Paul Reed: Barely visible in loss

Reed recorded no counting stats in one minute during Saturday's 121-113 loss to Orlando.

Reed was a non-factor in the loss, playing fewer than 10 minutes for the sixth straight game. With both Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart healthy, Reed's role has evaporated in recent times. He is no longer an every-night part of the rotation, something that will only change should those ahead of him be forced to miss time.

  • Miles Bridges PF | CHA

Hornets' Miles Bridges: Scores 22 points against NOLA

Bridges totaled 22 points (8-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one block in 28 minutes during Saturday's 123-92 win over New Orleans.

Bridges returned Saturday from a one-game absence due to back spasms, and he finished as the Hornets' second-leading scorer behind LaMelo Ball (25). Bridges had struggled with his three-point shooting since returning from a right knee injury in early December, but he has managed to connect on 45.2 percent of his threes on 6.0 3PA/G over his last seven outings. Over that span, he has averaged 21.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists over 33.4 minutes per game.

  • Moussa Diabate PF | CHA

Hornets' Moussa Diabate: Hauls in 13 boards Saturday

Diabate ended with nine points (2-2 FG, 5-7 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 29 minutes during Saturday's 123-92 victory over the Pelicans.

Diabate led both teams in rebounding Saturday and was one point shy from registering his third double-double of the regular season (and his first since Nov. 16 against the Bucks). Diabate earned significant playing time in November, but he saw his playing time diminish behind Nick Richards and Mark Williams. With Richards now in Phoenix, Diabate has an opportunity to earn a larger role for himself in Charlotte's big man rotation.

  • Mavericks' Kessler Edwards: Fails to score in return to bench

Edwards ended Saturday's 122-107 loss to the Celtics with zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), four rebounds and one block across 12 minutes.

Edwards moved back to the bench following the return of Klay Thompson. As expected, the move signaled an end to any chance Edwards had of being a meaningful contributor. Outside of his spot start in the previous game, Edwards had logged more than 10 minutes only once all season. It would appear as though he is on the outside looking in when it comes to playing a sizeable role moving forward.

  • Jalen Suggs SG | ORL

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Injures left knee Saturday

Suggs left in the fourth quarter of Saturday's 121-113 win over the Pistons due to a left knee injury, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.

Suggs checked out at the 7:40 mark in the fourth quarter and did not return, finishing the night with eight points (3-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 0-3 FT), three assists, two rebounds and one steal over 16 minutes. Suggs has been working through a back strain lately, and his latest knee injury puts him in jeopardy of missing Monday's game against the Heat. Cole Anthony and Anthony Black would be in line for increased playing time if Suggs were to be sidelined.

  • Jazian Gortman PG | DAL

Mavericks' Jazian Gortman: Rare sighting Saturday

Gortman finished with one rebound across two minutes during Saturday's 122-107 loss to the Celtics.

Gortman appeared in an NBA game for the first time in three weeks, playing two minutes during garbage time. It's been a disappointing season for Gortman, who is typically used as a depth piece when the situation allows.

  • Klay Thompson SG | DAL

Mavericks' Klay Thompson: Struggles in return

Thompson recorded six points (2-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt), three rebounds and one block in 26 minutes during Saturday's 122-107 loss to the Celtics.

Thompson returned from a two-game absence but failed to have any tangible impact. It's been tough sledding for the veteran in the twilight of his career, as he is averaging just 13.4 points and 2.9 three-pointers in 27.5 minutes per game. Even without Luka Doncic (calf) on the floor, Thompson has been unable to take up much of the slack. At this point, it appears as though his days of being a consistent perimeter scorer are behind him.

  • Paul George SF | PHI

76ers' Paul George: Getting MRI on left pinky finger

Head coach Nick Nurse told reporters after Saturday's 109-97 win over the Bulls that George will undergo an MRI on his left pinky finger Sunday, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

George did not return to Saturday's game after jamming his left pinky finger in the second quarter, and he finished the contest with nine points (3-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound and one assist over nine minutes. Sunday's MRI will reveal the extent of the injury, but it puts George's availability for Tuesday's game against the Lakers in jeopardy. Justin Edwards and Ricky Council would be in line for increased playing time should George be sidelined due to his injury.
