Mavericks' P.J. Washington: Extends double-digit scoring streak

Washington chipped in 10 points (2-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 24 minutes during Thursday's 137-101 victory over Washington.

Although he didn't play in the fourth quarter of Thursday's rout, Washington was still able to put forth a modest effort and reach double digits in scoring in his eighth consecutive game before his night came to a close. Through his last 10 contests, Washington is averaging 16.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.3 blocks, 1.1 steals and 2.0 three-pointers while shooting a scorching 54.1 percent from deep. The 26-year-old stretch four has solidified himself as Dallas' starting power forward this season, and he should continue offering disruptive defense to the Mavericks while seeing plenty of open looks from downtown as opposing defenses focus on containing Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.

  • Luka Doncic PG | DAL

Mavericks' Luka Doncic: First triple-double Thursday

Doncic closed Thursday's 137-101 victory over the Wizards with 21 points (7-17 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 10 rebounds, 10 assists, one block and two steals over 32 minutes.

After Doncic racked up a whopping 21 triple-doubles a year ago, it wasn't until his 17th appearance of the 2024-25 campaign Thursday that he recorded his first of the season as he also posted his fifth straight game with at least three three-pointers and two steals. Across his last 12 games, Doncic is averaging a superb 29.3 points, 8.7 assists, 7.8 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 3.6 three-pointers in 36.3 minutes per contest. The superstar guard will get another soft matchup Saturday against Toronto, a club that sits 23rd in the league in defensive efficiency rating (115.3).

  • Kyrie Irving PG | DAL

Mavericks' Kyrie Irving: Game-high 25 points in easy win

Irving contributed 25 points (10-16 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals in 25 minutes during Thursday's 137-101 victory over Washington.

Irving's night was cut short to just 25 minutes with the Mavericks beating the Wizards easily Thursday, but that didn't stop him from leading all scorers and producing his ninth 25-point game of the season after shooting under 50 percent in each of his past six outings. Over his last 13 games, Irving is averaging 24.8 points, 5.7 assists, 5.1 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 3.1 three-pointers in 32.4 minutes per contest. The superstar guard has another favorable matchup on tap Saturday against the Raptors, a team that ranks 24th in the league in points per game allowed (116.5).

  • Wizards' Marvin Bagley: Effective in first start Thursday

Bagley produced 16 points (7-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt), eight rebounds and two steals across 24 minutes during Thursday's 137-101 loss to Dallas.

Making his first start of the season, Bagley co-led the team with 16 points and eight rebounds Thursday. Bagley has now started 16 games for the Wizards dating back to last season, and he's been productive as a member of Washington's first unit since 2023-24 with averages of 12.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 1.0 blocks in 26.5 minutes per contest while shooting 53.8 percent from the floor. It remains to be seen if head coach Brian Keefe will keep Bagley in the starting lineup once Kyle Kuzma (ribs) returns to the fold, but fantasy managers should keep an eye on Bagley on waiver wires until the dust settles regarding the 25-year-old former lottery pick's role going forward.

  • Wizards' Bilal Coulibaly: Rough shooting night in rout

Coulibaly provided four points (0-10 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists and three steals over 29 minutes during Thursday's 137-101 loss to the Mavericks.

It was a dreadful showing on offense by Coulibaly, who was totally off the mark Thursday and failed to make a single field goal, but he did record three steals to somewhat salvage his night. While Coulibaly put together an encouraging start to the season, he's now shooting a miserable 21.7 percent from the field and 15.4 percent from downtown over his last seven games, a cold spell in which he's averaging 6.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.7 steals in 34.6 minutes per contest. However, the minutes should remain somewhat high for the 2023 No. 7 overall pick as he tries to find his identity offensively on the reeling Wizards, who have now lost 16 straight games as they continue to rebuild.

  • Jordan Poole SG | WAS

Wizards' Jordan Poole: Makes impact as facilitator

Poole chipped in 11 points (4-14 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 1-3 FT), one rebound, eight assists and two steals in 32 minutes during Thursday's 137-101 loss to Dallas.

Poole struggled to score Thursday, but he did hand out eight assists while turning the ball over just once to help offset the poor shooting night. Despite the shaky performance, Poole is still averaging a strong 20.0 points, 5.8 assists, 2.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 2.7 three-pointers in 29.3 minutes per game over his last 10 contests. The 25-year-old combo guard has been one of the lone bright spots for the 2-18 Wizards in what has been a bounce-back season for him thus far, and he'll face a Nuggets team at home Saturday that's struggled defensively to begin the campaign, as they rank 24th in the league in points allowed per game (116.8).

  • Knicks' Cameron Payne: Considered day-to-day

Payne (elbow), who was held out of Thursday's game against the Hornets, is being labeled as day-to-day, Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News reports.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau stated after the game that the team will see how Payne feels Friday morning, but it sounds like he'll have a chance to play in Saturday's matchup against Detroit if all goes well over the next few days. Miles McBride and Tyler Kolek would continue to benefit from a playing time standpoint until Payne gets the green light to return.

  • Ja Morant PG | MEM

    Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Ejected Thursday

Morant was ejected from Thursday's game against the Kings after picking up two technical fouls, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.

The Grizzlies will have to close the game out without the star floor general, who received his second technical foul when he reacted following a foul call and appeared to direct his emotions toward the referee. Morant ends the game with eight points (2-13 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven assists, three rebounds and a block across 28 minutes.

  • Caris LeVert SG | CLE

Cavaliers' Caris LeVert: Shines off bench in victory

LeVert amassed 21 points (7-11 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, six assists and one steal over 27 minutes during Thursday's 126-114 victory over Denver.

LeVert provided a big lift off of Cleveland bench in Thursday's victory, ending second on the team in threes made while finishing as one of four players with 20 or more points to go along with a team-high-tying assist mark. LeVert set a new season high mark from three Thursday, posting his second game of the season with at least 20 points.

  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Strong from deep as top scorer

Mitchell contributed 28 points (11-24 FG, 6-10 3Pt), three rebounds, six assists, two blocks and two steals in 33 minutes during Thursday's 126-114 victory over Denver.

Mitchell did a little bit of everything for Cleveland in Thursday's high-scoring contest, taking the game over offensively while leading all players in scoring and threes made to go along with a team-high-tying assist total. Mitchell, who also led the team with a pair of blocks, has connected on at least five threes in seven contests while scoring at least 25 points on 11 occasions.
